I am interested in finding more out about the Vanderbilt. It would be so convenient because the church is in Centerport and many of the guests are from the local area. Do you have access to any of the buildings? I know you have to hire your own vendors ie: tent and caterers, but can you use the restroom facilities there? What about cocktail hour? Is there other options besides using a tent? Thanks in advance!

I changed my screen name, I didnt know the other one was still up. Anyway...The Vanderbilt is just beautiful. You don't have access to the buildings other than to use the bathrooms. Although for a couple of hundred $$ more, you can rent a tour guide for the mansion. Everything is outside. You can either have it on lawn for $7000 or in the courtyard for $5000. Either way you need a tent. The courtyard is just beautiful. It is a spanish/morracan style mansion, the floor is all cobblestone, and there is a doorway in the middle of the courtyard that leads to the rear gardens, fountains and reflection pool, all overlooking the harbor. Call Carol at the museum or visit the website at www.vanderbiltmuseum.org. I am using Stone Caterers, they are great. Very helpful. It is impt. to find a caterer that knows the site. I saw two weddings there this summer (set up only) and the difference between the two caters was quite apparent. Carol can suggest vendors who have been there before. If you need any more info let me know, [email protected]

I am almost 100% positive that my sister used Stone Caterers for her wedding in June. The food was amazing and so many people commented on the professionalism of the staff. There was such a variety of food to choose from. I`ll ask my mom or sister and let you know.
