Candles in lieu of bo-k for BM's

I read on the knot that a new thing was to have the BM's walk down the aisle with a candle wrapped in ribbon instead of flowers...anyone ever try this....like/hate the idea?

I think it would look pretty if it were a dim room.

i agree candles would be nicer with dimmed lights, but flowers IMO are too beautiful to not have

A guy I work with was married last June ('04) and the bridal party carried candles. Here are some pics!

Sounds pretty, and will save $$. Wouldn't work for me, my ceremony is outside during the day..

See, that's the thing- I am not really big on flowers....I never buy them and FH never bothers to get them from me because I'd rather get something else (like chocolate

I am getting married in an very large, very old catholic church, so I think candles might work....but flowers ARE traditional.....

I hate this stuff- this is the part I don't have the mind for.

THat is taken from an old irish tradition. FH and i are actualy having groomsmen walk down with candles and BMs w/ flowers. in irish tradition the groomsmen walked with torches lighting the way for the couple...

wow- I actually LOVE the sound of that...it reminds me of they lyrics from the U2 song Ultraviolet 'baby baby baby light my way....'
we are actually thinking about using that song as our entrance.

My friend in Texas did this. They had the church dim and we all walked with a single candle and then put it in a candelabra on the altar (in the shape of a heart).

Personally I like flowers....
