I would do a candy bar I think its different not only that but IMO I think the Viennese hour alot of the food and goodies go to waste at least with the candy bar they can take thing home

Re: Candy bar vs Viennese Hour
I would rather have the Viennese...Thing is, my hall provides a candy bar with the viennese...Plus guests are able to take home anything from the viennese that they want but can't seem to eat at that point in time...So nothin will go to waste!
You have also look at the guests at your wedding...If you have a lot of younger people, the candy bar would be a hit...Personally I think the older people would rather have cakes & cookies rather then just candy..

I think it depends on your crowd. if you have a lot of yung people, go for the candy, if not, the viennese is more classic. A lot of older people aren't into candy. I love both. I went to a wedidng witha candy bar, we had litlte clear shopping bags witht eh couples name son themand we filled them with candy and it was great to eat on the long trip home (it was na OOT wedding)

I like the idea of the candy bar bc it's different. But I think the Viennese would be better bc it's primarily an adult affair and that's what they're prob expecting and are mostly used to. JMO!

oh really...??? hmmm..
I actually am doing the whole 'nyc to go' thing with the pretzels and coffee... And I'd really like to add a candy bar and maybe cookies as my 'favor' with our monogrammed clear bags.... Now, this is something to ask about.... Wonder if they would do this for me! I was actually also thinking of having bags of popcorn personalized to go with the movie theme!

I am doing a similar thing by giving the guests extra sweets TO GO....for a fraction of the cost of a viennese hour, I can give them goodies in a bag that they can enjoy the next day and have let their stomachs be happy with them when they leave....
I am adding on the Brooklyn Sundae bar though to go along with the cake...but it's mostly just because we met working in Haagen-Dazs, so ice cream has significance to us!!!

I am also doing a vienneese tray for the guests...which i am excited about... but i like your idea even better! Maybe the bags of popcorn and some candy already packaged. ooo....my ideas are swimming!

That's true. But its kind of funny in FH's family. The kids like candy, the middle aged people prefer cake and cookies, and the elderly love chocolate!! Can't get enough of it. FH's grandmother goes through a truckload of chocolate every year, and she is still so thin. So I'd say if middle aged people are the smallest group there, go for the candy bar.

I like the candy bar theme, if you are lucky to have a hall that provides not only the wedding cake but cookies and pastries on each tble then that would be great as you can technically cover all age groups. I saw this on the Knot and it looked really nice.

Re: Candy bar vs Viennese Hour
I voted for the Viennese hour. DH gets SO dissapointed if we go to a wedding without one Plus I think alot of the older people arent as into the candy bar. Also the vienesse hour adds a whole extra hour to your wedding.
