Ive been toying with the idea of doing this for the wedding, so of course with 6 weeks to go, I am thinking of adding another to-do thing to my list!
For girls who did the candy bar, how much would you say you spent on it? Also, we are doing wine favors and have already purchased them so this would be in addition to that. I am having 200 guests if that makes a difference.
Also, do you think it is necessary to do a candy bar? Ugh I just dont know what to do

Re: Candy Buffet
I did this and it was a big hit! It was also in addition to a favor. First check with your hall to see if they already have vases/containers and scoops for the candy. Although we purchased all of ours, my hall had 6 that we were available for use. We bought the vases at the Christmas Tree Shoppe at the Tanger Outlet in Deer Park. They were about $10 a vase. I didn't buy scoops, used my RH's.
Candy - search on here for different threads. A lot of girls will mention sales. I bought candy at Walgreens, Walmart, target, and Economy Candy. I was able to purchase bags for $5-$8 for 42 ozs. I forget the pricing at Economy Candy...they were also i think 10lb bags of candy. If you plan on using chinese food containers for holders, try asking your local chinese restaurant to purchase from them. The 16oz and 32 oz containers only cost them between $5 and $10 for 100. If they will sell them to you, you will get them much cheaper! Just add your own label if you want. I would say depending on the amount of guests you, and the sales you hit, you could pull it off for $300-$400.

Re: Candy Buffet
I bought the candy I used for my candy buffet from Economy Candy. If you can ge tot Rivington Street in the City go to the store .Check site for exact address. Be sure to check out the bulk candy they have. The store is really small and always busy. They've been around for years. Also, check the site nashvillewraps and bagsandbows for packing your candy. Good luck Your guest will love it.

Re: Candy Buffet
I did the candy bar and people are still talking about it!!!!! I cannot believe what a hit it was!!!! I bought candy jars from Michaels Crafts and some at Christmas Tree Shop. I bought 90% of my candy at BJ's and Costco....some at Party City (for some old-fashioned kinds). I used chinese food containers for the guests to stuff the candy in!!! I spent $500 on the candy bar for about 150 people! Some people took home more than one container....not fair!!! LOL

Re: Candy Buffet
I had a candy buffet at my wedding and it was all gone before the reception even started. I honestly did not think anyone would be interested in candy. I also had favors for each person. It gave my guests something to do during cocktail hour.
