oooh the choco fountain is so yummy. and Fh fell in love with it at the WOTY. I'm sure once your FH sees it he'll want it too...we might end up getting it even if we ahve to pay for it..
no venetian at SMCC? I was going to look there next, but I fell in love with NRC!!! I need my pastries!! LOL
no venetian at smcc, and it really doesn't bother me. we can bring in what we want, so we can make our own venetian hour. but we did love the hall so we totally overlooked that.

No, definitely...it's totally great because now you can customize what you want and probably save a lot of $$.

I know, I'm really concerned people will ahve leftr or be too stuffed, but it's justone of those things you get pressured into. Like, i know my family would look forward to the venetian hour and ask me why i did't have it if I didn't, so that's why I was like 'ph no SMCC has no venetian hour' b/c that would have probably been like the one negative for me

how do i say this w/o being offensive? i think it has a lot to do with nationality, italian, irish, etc. fh is italian, i am not. fmil kind of wanted the venetian hour - pastries, ice cream, etc., but since smcc does not offer it, she had to just deal. i don't mean to offend anyone reading this so pls don't take it that way

I know what you mean. I wasn't planning on doing it because it's a lot of extra money...$12pp. (plus add 18% and tax on that). To me that's a waste but FMIL was like 'No, venetian hour, that's the best part'. So then I got all paranoid thinking a lot of ppl would think the same thing, so we added it. All I know is EVERYONE better eat it.

Don't forry gNi, it's been a really big hit at every wedding I've ever seen it at, especailly if ti has a nice presentation, which I'm sure it does at Russo's!

Re: candy candy candy candy
I love chocolate or anything sweet. I think a fountain or a candy cart are a great idea. I actually asked my FH yesterday if he thinks it's a good idea, he is more of a food lover so he was like you have to have everything. SURE DO!!!!!!!!!

Re: candy candy candy candy
Depending on who does it, the chocolate fountain is like a venetian hour all by itself! there are SO many goodies included!!!! And it really lasts a long time. It was open all 4 hours at WOTY with I think 150 people and it just kept flowing!

I was thinking about doing that...having a table on the way out for guests filled with different candy and having a sign that read 'parting is such SWEET sorrow'. I also wanted chocolate fondue @ the venetian hour which maybe a possibility
ohhh, i think that quote - i may steal it. thanks
Happy 2 Help!!! That's what we're here 4!!!

I have never heard of the chocolate fountain, I'm craving it just typing about it. Would all the halls have it or can I get it from outside and bring it in? Oh BTW I'm still getting to know the lingo but what is WOTY? stupid question but im a lil confused about it.

Someone asked for photos of both so here they are:
Candy Cart Photo from a bride on this site: Also, I think when they do this, they put out goodie bags so guests can bring candy home.
Random Chocolate Fountain Image from the web: This is always the hit of the party. I so want one at my wedding. Hope this helps.

Some halls ahve the chocolate fountain and there are a few companies who can bring it in. Audrey's bakery has it. it's SO yummy. it's warm melty choclate surrounded by goodies..See above pic!
WOTY is short for Wedding of the Year (http://www.theweddingoftheyear.com) it was a mock wedding get together hosted by LIW on january 15. We got to see diferent bands, DJ's, makeup artists, florists, etc in action!
PS: If you need any help with the king, on the upper right hand of the screen right under 'Store' there is a link describing all of the wedding lingo!
