Cannot find a wedding band that sits right w/ antique setting e-ring :(
Uh-oh. I've been to a few places now and whenever I put wedding bands I like (w/ the pave/antique style) next to my ring it doesn't fit! It angles towards where my finger meet and there is a huge space.
My e-ring isn't really 'ideal' for a flush fit b/c the diamond is set very low ont he ring, so the actual base/prongs kind of bevel out from the main part of the ring.
I don't like the rings that have a 'cut-out' for the diamond - because it looks stupid to wear your wedding band w/o it.
Any recommendations - I was thinking of getting an inexpensive pave band w/ a groove for the ring - and wear that solely with my engagement ring and then getting another wedding band w/ detailing etc that matches my FH's.
Anyone try Elsa's? Do you have a pic of your set?

My e-ring is antique setting but I dont know if it's like yours. FH had a wedding band made for me from his jeweler.

I have an antique ring that's rounded so I had the same problem -- there was a weird gap between the e-ring and any band I tried on. I went to Elsa's and they made me a ring that sits right against the e-ring. It is rounded, so it looks a little weird w/o the e-ring, but if I turn the wedding band around it looks okay by itself

How was your overall experience w/ Elsa's - at first I was turned off b/c of all the advertisements etc...but they look like they could be great for a special kind of wedding band b/c of the molds & all....quality etc...

So far, it's been pretty good. It is a little weird that everytime we go in, even if it's just to look at the ring, they're like 'okay,we'll need another deposit.' But they wouldn't have asked for a deposit if we hadn't come in. Like I said, it's a bit weird but I was pleased with the work they did and the price was pretty good as well. I got about 1.5 carats of good quality diamonds in the wedding band for under $3,000.

I dont have an antique setting but I had the same issue with my ring and I wound up just buying a band I like and it doesnt look bad at all even though it doesnt lay flat against my e-ring(there are two little bands at the ends of the row of diamonds down the sides of the e-ring that keep any band from laying flush with it).

Elsa's designed our bands and I did get a band that has a cut out for the ring to fit in- it is GORGEOUS. We also bought an everyday band set (I am always going to wear my ring, but my FH can't so he needed an everyday band) so that we have matching bands and one I can wear alone on the other hand.
I am going to almost promise you that the cut out is the best way to go. I have a Tacori low set setting and I tried on band after band and each layed exactly as you described. I was not thrilled with the idea either but it really looked the best and I ended up being the happiest with the e-ring locking into the band- everything else just looked awkward.
Elsa and her husband are wonderful to work with and our rings are gorgeous. Brian actually has the rings, but the next time we are together I can try to take a picture for you of what the band looks like with my e-ring.
Good Luck!

I know for us they called us to set up appointments for steps in production and we would make payments each time. They actually were very nice about it and would say 'do you want to leave more money? Is ____ ok?' and if we came in on our own just to look at the ring, they never asked us to make a payment . . .
I also think this is pretty normal for custom making jewelry. My mother has had so much jewelry custom made over the years by various jewelers and each time she and my dad would go in to see the progress or to look at the ring, they would be asked to leave some money up until the point of pick up.

It's good to know that at least it's normal. It was just weird for us, like I said, because we'd already left large deposits but we'd just go in to look at the ring (not for a necessary appointment in the process, you know) and we'd end up having to leave another $500 or $1000. It would've been fine if we'd been told that ahead of time, but it caught us off guard because we weren't expecting it I guess
