Can't Believe I'm Asking About Bands AGAIN!

Hi all! I haven't been on the boards in quite a while, but I hope some of you remember me.

Anyway! Fi and I are having a heck of a time trying to find a band. We have been looking since about May! We have just about scratched off all of the Long Island bands now, and are looking into NYC and NJ bands. Does anyone have experiences with the following bands, or know anything about their pricing?:

Heartbeat Dance Band
Starflight (Barry Herman)
Shining Star (Barry Herman)
RAVE
Channel One (CMC)
Chaser

I have used Channel One and they were wonderful. I cannot remember her name, but there was a women in the band and she had a great voice. But I would recommend that you go and see them. My tastes my be different than yours. But they are worth a look.

we are using code bleu and we love them . we have only heard great things about them. check them out- they are part of skyline orchestras

Try Soular Rhythm, I used them for my wedding and they were great. They really feel the crowd and get them on the dance floor. Also they are very versatile.

I know chaser personally, have since I was born

I am using them for my wedding, and I HIGHLY recommend them. I think they are playing at Port Jazz tomorrow night, good time to go see them if you live in suffolk county.

Hey D! My fiance is the sax player in Code Bleu, and he used to play in Prime Time Live, so both those bands are out for us, unfortunately (they're booked anyway), but they are both great! The band leader from Code Bleu is the one who hooked us up. :)

We are using Code Bleu as well! Your FH is great. I am sooo excited about having CB at my wedding and we really liked Sean and Donna and the gang!

Hey Sun, awesome! You know, I think they're why I got spoiled... I worked in Skyline's office with Sean for several years, so I saw Code Bleu play a lot and I knew about their pricing and all. So when we started searching for bands, I had these really high standards! I thought it would be easy to find a really good band at a reasonable price. Wrong! Most of the top bands were booked more than a year in advance, or they were priced way out of our budget.

I did just find out that Channel One is available, though, and not too expensive! So they're a good possibility.

Now a question: Would you guys book just from a video if the video was excellent? A lot of these bands I'm checking out now don't showcase, so I'm not sure what to do.

Hi violet...

Personally, I wouldn't book from just a video. As Sean from Code Bleu said to me that things can be enhanced, changed etc. Did you ask SEan's opinion on a band? He might be able to give you the best advice. Show him the videos and see what he thinks.
