We decided to send response cards that do not include the M____________________ which apparently has caused confusion, why, I have no idea. Here are some of the comments we've received (keep in mind we mailed our invitations on Saturday)
- FSIL: Pretty invitation, but your response card confuses me
- One of my co-workers called to tell me the card was missing all she received was a card with the response deadline tucked inside the response envelop (duh- that is the card)
- One of FH's co-workers asked if she should write her name extra neatly b/c the response cards are doubling as the seating cards at the wedding
- My brother's girlfriend has been searching for the number I wrote on her response card. can not find it anywhere!

Re: Can't make this stuff up
I've seen this on two other wedding invites before and both DH and I knew what to do so I'm so surprised!

Re: Can't make this stuff up
I've definitely received blank response cards like this before.
I mean, there's a blank card with response date on the top, you'd just put two and two together and write your name!!!

YES!!! You write your own name in the empty space. There is plenty of room for name and a little note and whether or not the guest can attend.
I have received invitations like this in the past, has anyone else?
I never have.
I'd definitely fill out the info, but I'd feel like 'am I doing this right?' or 'if all it says to to reply by such-and-such a date, maybe they forgot to put the ACTUAL RSVP card in my invite'...being honest here. Hopefully you don't have any more issues

I agree... ive never see an RSVP without the M_________________ i assume that regardless i would write my name... but would find it strange and probably ask a question or two... or just assume that the printer effed it up

Re: Can't make this stuff up
mine were like that, but obvi you know that already! for others interested, here's a pic of mine.
even if you haven't seen an RSVP like this before, seems pretty obvious that you write your name and if you are or are not coming. not sure why people get all confused over it.

That's just the type of the card if you choose that card you don't put the M______________.
I think they are elegant and beautiful but I didn't choose them because I figured some of my guest might be confused, even though I would know what to do with it.

Because I personally feel that the RSVPs look really classy and elegant without the line. I'm not trying to insult others, this is just my personal opinion. It's also nice to get notes from guests - we are keeping all the cards, and some people wrote really sweet messages.

Thank you for the visual Lis!
I wanted to give people more room to write a note and I thought it looked cleaner on the card. I received a few cards like this recently and loved the way it looked so i totally copied!

Im confused at the array of responses... do you have a picture of your RSVP? i need to see what they find so confusing!
I agree. A picture would help me understand better.
haha. I do not have a picture on me but picture a typical response card.
And it says 'The favour of your reply is requested on or before September 23rd.
The rest is blank. The card is tucked inside the response card envelop.
But then how do you know who the rsvp is from if there's no place to put a name?
Wouldn't people know to put their names? Even before I was planning my own wedding I've received RSVPs like this and I just figured I'm supposed to write my name, say I'm coming, tell the bride I'm so excited and that she's going to be a beautiful bride.

I guess invitations are going to be thing that get voted 'Most likely to confuse a wedding guest' Like this line situtaion or even with kids... your kid's name was not on the invite they're not invited.

- One of FH's co-workers asked if she should write her name extra neatly b/c the response cards are doubling as the seating cards at the wedding

I had these for my bat mitzvah...it actually was wonderful, so many people wrote really touching things in the space provided.

yea, this is my favorite. I should have included a mensa IQ exam with my STD requiring my guests to pre-qualify to be invited.

I'm guessing because of the invisible ink pen or hidden number?
I think you are just suppose to write in your name....right? see i'm not even 100% sure but thats what I would do.

I have! We were going to do the same with our RSVPs but figured pure chaos would ensue . . . I feel for you!
