Cant make wedding .. advice

A friend of mine is getting married next month and send out his invites way in advance since its an out of town wedding.... Unfortunately FH and I can not make it .. It would be a very expensive weekend between gas, tolls, hotel (2 nights) and gift ect.

How much should I send a gift for? I was thinking $100. Is that reasonable??

i am having the same issue...I feel bad not going but its just too much.

I was planning on giving $100 too!

$100 is perfect! I would be very appreciative if I got this from someone who didn't come to my wedding!

$100 is definately reasonable. Not everyone expects a gift when you respond no. That's a very nice gesture!!

I think $100 is lovely (and is probably extra generous, because outside NY people generally give less)

please don't get mad at me for asking... but you RSVP'd no, right???

I think if you RSVP'd yes, and just realized you couldn't go, then you should send a little more to cover your plate.
