Guys - I think some of us take things said on this board waaay too seriously!! We all have different opinions and have had many different experiences with vendors! Your vendor may have been the best in the world at your wedding and unfortunately - someone else may have had a bad one. I love this board and I have gotten so much help from everyone - but lately it seems like so many people can't wait to jump down someone else's throat for giving an honest opinion. I know we're all stressed with the holidays and wedding planning - but can't we just all get along?!?

I feel like sometimes when people share a bad experience with a vendor, people who like the vendor respond as though you bashed their family. Sometimes I watch what I say here. Ive deleted things I was about to post.

I was just thinking the same thing mrswask! I posted my honest opinion about a vendor who is very well loved on this board and i received some not so nice comments from fellow brides.
Everyone should be able to just post their opinion and not feel afraid to. there are many times that i try to write something and then change what I'm writing b/c I am afraid of the negative response i might receive from other brides.

i have definatly felt the same way and i also feel as though it goes against the whole piont of this board. when i was looking for venders i wanted to hear the negetives as well as the positives. hearing the negetives really helped me in making my decisions. if we cant be honest, then whats the piont of the board.

I came here because i was on another board that was nasty if you had a different opinion. I find this board to be much more understanding. we do have to respect each others opinions. I dislike very much a venodr that most people love, but Im older I come from a different place so my opinions might be different. I'm sorry to hear that kind of thing went on here!

That is so true!!! On one of my first posts, i nearly got my head ripped off for sharing a friend's experience with a certain vendor. I was just tellling the truth. It's true a vendor could be great for one and horrible for another, but I think giving your honest opinion could be really helpful. Why lie?

I agree!!! My friend used a certain vendor who came highly recommended and she saw proof of past work from friends of her. On her wedding day, he wasnt so great!
Due to the responses I have seen other people receive when they say negative things, if I see someone ask about this vendor I only FM them!
I think because we all put so much heart, and money into this once in a life time day we get a tad bit too sensitive when they are received negatively!

Most highly recommended vendors from her were very rude when I met with them. I got the feeling that they thought I should be priveleged they might work with me! Hello, you should be priveleged I am giving you my business. But I decided not to post any of that because some people get loco. I am happy with my low key vendors!

People forget that there is no vendor who only does good work or only does bad work. People can have different opinions on the same vendor and they both can be true.

I agree. I think its important for people to be honest. Just because one person had a bad experience doesnt mean everyone will. People should take this so if they do choose that Vendor they will make sure they stay on top of that so it doesnt happen to them.

Well feel free to FM me all your thoughts about vendors, particularly Invites, Florists (which everyone seems to feel so passionately about) and DJs.
