This is my first time posting here, but I've been browsing over some of your reviews trying to get a better idea of what reception hall I'd like. Right now I'm leaning towards Captain Bill's in Bay Shore, but I hadn't seen many recent reviews. I was wondering if anybody had a wedding or went to one there recently and if they were happy or unhappy with it. What I've heard so far was positive, but I wanted to know if there were any special considerations or things I should ask before signing on the dotted line.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Re: Captain Bill's
I was in a bridal party that had their reception at Captain Bills and went to 3 showers there at the resturant as well. Food was good, the room looked beautiful, our waiters were always super attentive to us and the bridal attendants were on top of everything for the bridal party. I have nothing but good things to say about them!

I'm having my reception there!
I haven't read many reviews about it, but the few I did read- had nothing but wonderful things to say.
Besides LIW, I know of a few people who went to events there (1 wedding in the bayview house, and a few showers in the restaurant), and they all raved up the food and the service.
We also asked if we could have a food tasting b/c we never ate there before.. and the tasting won us over. The food is just delicious.
If you have any questions, feel free to FM!
good luck!

You have FM. I am booked for Captain Bills too in November. The food, room and views are awesome! It's like a hidden spot, that not too many people would consider or know about. The room is so pretty, right on the water..

Re: Captain Bill's
I recently looked there and I loved the room. I did not like the vibe I got from the woman who showed us around. She immediately told me the cons of the cocktail style reception we want. I also didn't like the idea of having the ceremony on the dance floor.

Re: Captain Bill's
My good friend just got married there and it was great. If I had to say one thing that I wasnt crazy about was the deck for cocktail hour was kinda small. There wasnt enough seating for everyone.

I'm having my Rehearsal dinner there! The foods really good! That's important. My brother accompanied a Bridesmaid to a Wedding there and he said the wedding was great! He brought home the flower centerpeice too, which my mom loved lol.
