I called my car insurance company last month to see if my car insurance was going to go down this year. My new year starts at the end of this month. I was rear ended in Sept 2000 and my insurance went up, even though it wasnt my fault. Well my policy is supposed to be clear now. Yesterday, in the mail I get a policy statement about how much my insurance is going to cost me this year, and I see it went up $500.
I don't understand this. Why would the woman tell me that it is going down, when they were going to raise it? Now I have to go through all the hassle of calling them, and they are such a pain to deal with.
If I cant get a good deal from them, what other insurance companies do you recommend dealing with? Right now I have Travellers insurance...full coverage. Thanks, Scott

i recommend geico - i shopped around when i first got car insurance a few years ago and they were by far the lowest.

i have State Farm... I apy about $1800 a year for a 2003 SUV- Pathfinder... I also have renters, flood, personal insurance with them... who knows how much it will go up now thta I was just in an accident!

I have Geico and my DH as Allstate. We both have full coverage and pay less than 1300 a year each.

I called the insurance company back and the woman said that she didnt forget about me and that she would call me back in the morning. If she cannot beat Geico then I will either go with Geico or see what my friends insurance broker can do for me. Thanks, Scott

We go thru a broker and have NationWide insurance...been around forever...we pay monthly ( all year) $250 for two newer cars, full coverage , $500 deduct...so if my math is on..thats 3000 a year for two cars...his car is a little higher then mine and we have both cars under his name for insurance to save money ( fh is him by the way )
ETA: I have had nothing on my license and FH had an accident about 4-5 tops years ago

Scott..... Allstate is #1 in new york State farm is #1 in the country.....
have you checked them out? fh works for state farm and he said they already had one rate reduction and another is suppose to be coming.....

State Farm doesnt give quotes online in NY. I really wanted to check on line before I made any calls.
