car insurance question

car insurance question

Can it be registered and titled to one person and insured by another? Or do all the documents have to be in the same name? What if I'm living in FH house with him?

In New York the registration and the insurance have to be in the same name. The title doesn't have to be.

when I leased my first car, my name was the main leasee and my mom was the cosigner(b/c I did not have good credit) my name had to be on the title and registration, because it was going to be under my insurance. same thing for my second car. whoevers name is under insurance, that name must be on the registration.
