Car seat/Stroller question
We are in the process of registering and have done tons of research and have gotten many recommendations on all things. We are registering for the Peg Perego Pliko P3 Stroller and want to do the 2 car seats - an infant one and then the convertible one. Basically we want the infant car seat to come out of the car and into the stroller for easiest transport of the baby.We like the Graco SnugRide Infant car seat better than the Peg Perego Prima Viaggo one.
Here's my question. Will the Graco Infant car Seat go into the Peg Perego Stroller or do we need to have matching brands? I don't want to have to buy a separate stroller carrier for the infant car seat if I don't have to.
Has anyone done this or do you generally go wtih the same brands for infant car seat and stroller?
Thanks,
Trish

Re: Car seat/Stroller question
I gotta figure that you can't interchange these two as they are the two high competitors out there! That said- I have the Peg infant seat and like it so far. JMO - The Graco is nice too - and very safe as well. I feel safe with the Peg, and I like it's look as well. We did add the little soft thing for around the baby's head and some soft strap things to make it more comfy - the material was a little rough.

Re: Car seat/Stroller question
WE did not go with the same brands..for carseat and stroller. We used the Graco snug ride infant car seat...and we have the Chicco Deluxe XL stroller.
Do what we did...go to a store that has the models you are considering and try placing the infant car seat IN the seat part of the stroller.
That is how we found the graco fit VERY nicely in our stroller of choice.
I think that GRACO and PEG may very well be compatible.

Re: Car seat/Stroller question
I might just have to go and see for myself, like Phyl suggested. My GF also has the Peg infant car seat and said its great, although heavy. But a review I read said the Graco fared far better than the Peg. We're just trying to get the best of everything, regardless of brand. and we've been doing our research and testing them out! But I love the Peg stroller, so I am sticking with that! Thanks - anyone else?

Re: Car seat/Stroller question
I was in BBB last weekend and the guy helping us said they are NOT interchangable - I was bummed because Peg Perego no longer sells the stroller, carseat and base in one box anymore - you have to buy them separately and they're expensive!!!Are you getting the stroller for $350? That one looks nice
I had heard that Graco wasn't as good as Peg - and you heard the opposite! I need to search on Consumer Reports and read some other reviews to research a bit more.

Re: Car seat/Stroller question
Teri - I would go with Peg Perego all the way, but I've read some conflicting reports that their infant car seat isn't the best. Consumer Reports gave good reviews, so I think I am registering for the Peg Perego infant car seat anyway, but I just wanted to see what people thought of the Graco and whether or not its interchangeable. The stroller itself is $270 and the infant car seat is $170.
I'm hoping people chip in for the shower and get them for me or we'll be broke! The infant car seat is only used to 20 lbs or until they reach one!

Re: Car seat/Stroller question
Wow - I'll have to look again when it gets closer but the stroller I liked was $350! Nothing came with it either!!!What is the convertible carseat? How is that different from the infant one? What does it convert to?

Re: Car seat/Stroller question
Teri - the convertible car seat will go from infant (rear-facing) to toddler (front facing) without the need for 2 car seats (eliminates the infant car seat). Its a great way to save some money, however, the car seat does not come out and can't attach to a stroller, and doesn't make transporting your newborn very easy. But it works.. I just prefer to have the infant seat and take it out and connect it to the stroller.

oh forget that! I'll pay for the two carseats and have the luxury of using them to transport the baby too
I think it's so handy that they can become carriers, snap onto the stroller, etc. Welcome New Vendors
