Card box! I personally don't care for the bird cage & I would be afraid that the envelopes would fall out!

2014 bride crashing here, and to answer you question, def not! I matched the colors of my invites to my card box. I think doing so helps define your color scheme for your wedding. If you're interested I bought my card box from a vendor on etsy called exoticweddingboxes. Heres some pics below of my card box and invites. The rest can be seen in my album. :)

2014er crashing

I wanted a card box. But I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for one on etsy, and I'm not Martha Stewart, so I wasn't going to make my own. Then I remembered my 2 cousins carried nice satin card sacks at their weddings. If it was good enough for them, it's good enough for us. A few minutes on eBay and $12 later, I got myself a beautiful ivory satin and lace card sack.

Gorgeous!! I bought my card box from a LIW bride on here used. They can be a little pricey on etsy depending how big you get them. But I vote card box for sure.

I like things to be matchy so I like the idea of making your invites to the card box. I don't think it has to look exactly like the invites but along the lines of it flowing. My sister made her cardbox so I plan to do the same. I think she spent $30-$40? Have you ever considered making your own?

They're not as pricey as some of the ones you can buy. Plus they run promotions often (usually 50%) especially if you catch them at an expo

I like the birdcages!! But ive seen gorgeous card boxes too!! I just bought one on sale today from Michaels for 12 bucks and im going to weave some ribbon around it and put a pretty flower on top.. ill put pics up once its done. But you dont have to worry about cards falling out, mine has a thin mesh on the sides but if your doesnt just weave some ribbon around it.
