card box disaster

okay so now that the cost-saving idea of making my own card box is the furthest thing from reality I've got the sides and bottom finished, flush and formidable I have no idea about attaching the lid. Hinges? Something that slips in? Foam? Wood? I'm getting desperate and it's turning into a high functioning cat toy as I procrastinate.
