Card Box Question

Card Box Question

I need help ladies! I was with my family and we started discussing the whole card box thing. As Hispanics, we are used to the bride and groom going around the table and greeting everyone so that the guests would be able to give their gifts. I honestly do not want to go around the tables being that FH and I want to have fun and dance the night away. Not that I dont want to say hello to people but I will be going around to check up on them. So heres my question, if we purchase a card box, whats the polite way of telling the guests to put the envelopes in the box?

to be honest with you, we had a cardbox BUT still went around to each table to say hello so i wouldnt say the cardbox means you dont say hello to everybody. SOME guests did put the cards in the box themselves but we still went to their tables, plus not like i kept track and knew who put it in the box or not. And some gave it to us as we went around to each table. After each table though i would run to the cardbox and put it in there before i went to the next table.

For me it was just a place to put all my cards and keep them safe bc after you say hello and guests greet you, you do have to hold on to them and didnt want to worry about it.

Re: Card Box Question

Great question I had the same one...I think most people are used to physically handing it to the bride.

Well if you don't go from table to table, people will likely come up to you at the sweetheart table or approach you on the dance floor so you may still want to carry a bag.

Otherwise, set your card box up close by your table and simply say something like 'oh thank you, we have a card box right there' or 'thank you or card box is right next to the cake table etc....'

or if that seems like to much work, maybe your MOH can take on the duty of emptying your bag into the card box so you aren't running back and froth all night

I really dont know, I am just gonna suck it up and walk around. I really dont mind.

Re: Card Box Question

Are you going to your Coctail hour?
Because this is how we got around this. We are greeting and talking to everyone at the coctail hour and whoever doesnt give us the card, the DOC will let them know wher eto put it :) Hope that helps!

I really think it's important to go to each table. Many older guests will not get up and come to you. People make a lot of sacrifices for you wedding day, it is important you thank them for being there.

Re: Card Box Question

My plan is that if someone hands me a card I am going to ask them to put it in the card box....my card box is so cute so I want to make sure it is utilized!!! LOL
