So, when I ordered my card box from for the modern bride back in July I was SO excited to get it. I ordered a 3 gift card box, because thats what i wanted. I liked the way that one looked the best, and thats why i chose it. I got an email today from them saying that they completed my card box and that in order to incorporate all my colors the way my designer envisioned it, they decided to upgrade me to a 4 gift card box. which dont get me wrong, is an awesome thing for them to do and i think its cool that they did that for me. but, its not really what i wanted. and i know this part is gonna sound crazy, but the top box... something about the height of it in comparison with the others bothers me (i have serious issues with symmetry, which is why i loved the 3 gift box). So i emailed them and told them i loved it, but asked if they could use a shorter more 'squat' looking box for the top one (if you look through their gallery you'll see what i mean in some of the other 4 gift card boxes). And they responded saying theres nothing they can do, its all glued together and it will ruin the whole box to change it.
i know this probably all sounds ridiculous and maybe i'm just bugging cuz my wedding is next weekend, and i DO think its pretty and do think it was nice of them to upgrade me, but its not really what i actually wanted - should i just get over it?????????
Honestly I like it, but if you are not happy with it, then say something since you are paying a pretty penny for that box!

it's nice of them to have upgraded you. I think the top box is a little too square and maybe that is why it does not go so well with the other three, but it doesn't look terrible. Honestly, i don't think your guests will notice the box measurements difference. I would just stay with it.

It's gorgeus. I understand where you are coming from because your not satsified with it and you have every right to feel that way. However, this is such a small thing compared to the rest of things that will be going on during your BIG day!!!! Think about your vows, the pics, the first dance but not the cardbox that will be sitting in the corner of the room.

i know no one is gonna notice, and i know that in the grand scheme of things this is SO not a big deal, which is why i feel silly even complaining about it. but like, if i wanted a 4 gift card box i def would have ordered one.
ilonka - thats exactly how i feel about it. too square and weird looking with the other ones.
i dont understand though, you order it and they make it and then you dont have the option to not like something about it or want something a little different? i mean, i'm not asking them to redesign the whole box

I mean when it comes down to it you payed them to make what YOU wanted...if there is nothing they can or will do then thats that and obviously dont let it ruin your day BUT it is totally normal to be mad because you are paying them to make what you want...you wanted 3 and they gave you 4..i think they were wrong and should have asked you first if you would be ok with it before they went on glueing stuff together...
But don't worry- I understand why you are mad but if there is nothing they can do for you which i think would be terribly wrong then just brush it off because obviously it isnt the most important part of the day and no one will notice it but you..

i completely agree, they definitely should have given me a heads up and asked if i was ok with it, which i would have said i'd rather keep it at 3....
there's no way i will possibly let this ruin anything, it just kinda bums me out a little that i am disappointed with something i paid a decent enough amount for and waited 10 months for!!

I think it's really pretty and I like it, but I do see what you mean about it not being the same proportion. I'm surprised they didn't run it by you first. But at this point I don't know if I would do anything.

ITA that they should have contacted you with some options if they were unable to do what you wanted with 3 boxes. If you are truly unhappy with it, I wouldn't take it or pay for it. It isn't what you ordered and it's their own mistake for not contacting you before going ahead and thinking you would want something other than what you ordered.
I would complain but I'm a complainer and want things perfect, If it doesn't bother you that much then it's really up to you if you want it redone or not.

If its going to REALLY bother you then talk to them. Its beautiful. But I think with one week to go if its not a big deal deal, move on to things that are.
Also, you want to make sure it will get here in time.

I think it's beautiful!! I ordered my card box from them as well. I think you should be able to get what you want. I think you are entitled to get it made into a 3 present box if you want, because that's what you ordered. I also think you have time to demand that and have it overnighted to you. I don't think you can ask them to change the top box on there now, but you can tell them you wanted a 3 present box and a 3 present box only, and you want it fixed, with no charge and gotten to you in time. They should have cleared it by you first if they couldn't change anything about it.
HOWEVER-I think it looks really nice, and I wouldn't change a thing on it. I think your guests will be extremely impressed by it as is, even if you don't love it 100%.

I'm sorry you weren't happy with it when you first saw it, and I hope it's starting to grow on you... it really is quite lovely. I know it's not the perfect symmetry you first imagined, but it has a very artistic flair to it that's quite elegant.

ITA. I would let it go. With 2 weeks left I think you have more important thing to be concerned about. I mean you got a 4th box for free, Im sure they thought they were going to make you happy, giving you a free upgrade. I mean there are people that want more boxes and cant afford them so I would say relish in the fact you got a free upgrade. I think its GORGEOUS and dont see the box being too square AT ALL and trust me NO ONE will notice that at the wedding. I understand your upset but look at the big picture here theres WAY worse disasters that could have happened so I would let this one go. =)
