Where is everyone buying their card boxes from. I want something really simple and inexpensive, but everything I've found is covered in lace and pearls and really exensive.
Thanks in advance!

I think a lot of the girls make their own if they have them.

Re: card boxes
I made my own. I went to Century 21 in Westbury and bought two hat boxes - a large one for the bottom and a smaller one to go on top. The hat boxes were already covered with a really nice fabric, so the only thing that I had to do was just cut up the boxes and hot glue them together. I then added ivory ribbon around each box. I made four bows out of tool and used left over ribbon for the middle part of the bows.
I hot glued the ribbons to the end parts of the ribbon on the boxes....and voila! I had myself a cake card box!
I'm not good with posting and resizing pics. FM me.

Re: card boxes
I got my hat boxes there as well.. It's the ivory fabric one as well.. I got more than two because I am having a large wedding, but they came our beauitfully.. I also decorated it with flowers and pearls.. I'll post a pic... this is the second one I made and they aren't hard, just time consuming!

Re: card boxes
I'm renting a mailbox one from a vendor at my hall. It made it much easier and it is gorgeous for cheap.

Re: card boxes
Thanks for the tips! I'll check out the Century 21 in Brooklyn this Friday for hat boxes (going back there to clean up my old apartment). Most of the card boxes I have seen have been too ornate and too expensive also, around $80 or more. I can't see spending that for a box I'll use once.
Does this take the place of a money bag? How do you display it and do the guests put the card directly in or do you take the cards and put them in the box?

Re: card boxes
Century 21 in Westbury. I believe the large box was $15 and the smaller one was $9? I forget. I forgot to add that at the top, I made a slit for the envelopes.
And yes, the cardboxes are used in lieu of the money bags.
The boxes are placed on a table somewhat close to the where the bride and the groom will sit at the reception.
