Do I really need one? I do not want to spend the money on one :/

Card Boxes
We are doing a DIY card box that we can use it afterwards in our house. My FH is making it so it's very special to us -t's going to be either a bird house or a log cabin. We have an antique decor in the house and a ton of wooden birdhouses on our bay window so it's perfect.

This is my plan but I'm worried I'll f#$% it up and end up having to buy one on Etsy for $150+ anyway. I like to think I'm crafty, but I'm not so great at execution lol

I've watched so many tutorials on DIY card boxes I better not mess is up lol. I'm wrapping it with pintuck linen and glueing rhinestones on every pin.

We had one. I won't lie I was super excited about it lol.. My dad made it for us.. We plan on taking the top off and using it as a planter outside of our house now that wedding is over :) everything I had at wedding I tried to find a second use for lol
Edit: I don't know why my pics always come up sideways! Sorry!

I love that... I ended up just ordering a bird cage. I am not the crafty type to DIY. I wish I was. Plus with less than 4 weeks now I really don't have the time to DIY.

Lol! This is me exactly. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this so if it's a fail it won't be leaving my apartment lol.
I'm leaning towards a birdcage myself for the card box currently.

Card Boxes
We had one (pic in my album) and it really came in handy. I really did not want to have to carry a card around or leave on the table or designate someone to be in charge of them. Plus it was a little keepsake to us.

Card Boxes
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and the bride said that I can borrow certain things from her wedding when the wedding is over. I may snag her card box (I believe it's a wood chest).
If you are contemplating not having a box, I went to a wedding where the bride was carrying around a nice bag to put the cards in when they were handed to her.

Ladies PLEASE pay attention to these boxes/cages--i've seen on the news people (guests/random ppl) picking up the whole box in the middle of the reception and walking out with it! SCARY!
im not a huge fan, mostly for this reason. Also, other weddings ive see guests just get up a place it in the box. I will have a bag (hopefully we can find the one my grandmother made my sister for her wedding) so everyone can hand me the cards and i can personally thank them.

Re: Card Boxes
I made ours from supplies at Michael's !!!!! Attached is a photo :)
Be careful when using card boxes. I know a few people who had gifts go missing during their wedding because someone dipped into the card holder and helped themselves to some of the gifts. I will be getting a fabric bag to hold the gifts and one of the parents or grandparents will wear it on their wrist during the reception.

Card Boxes
my card box was only open at the slot and the cards dropped down to bottom box. we kept it behind the sweetheart table..
