My mom said she didnt really like the idea of having all the cards out in the open in a card box...and this was one of those things that I didnt really care enough about her to fight with her about lol. I think the cardboxes are really cute and Ive seen so many people post great pics of them, but I havnt heard anyone talk about a money bag. Is anyone else using one???

Re: Cardbox or Money bag???
I'm using a money bag because someone made a really nice one that matches my purse, ring pillow and all the other items I have that day. If not I would have opted for a card box. Just make sure you don't leave the bag alone if you decide for the bag.

Yea thats what I was thinking too. The only other thing is, are you going to walk around with it in your hands? I said to my mom that I wasnt and she was like, you have to, and i was like i feel like a kid on halloween going around to my guests saying 'trick or treat'

No, I wasn't planning on carrying it. When you go around to say hi to people they might hand over the envelope, but I am going to give it to FH to carry back to the bag when he can't hold any longer.

Re: Cardbox or Money bag???
Many of my family members brought up the fact that we didn't have a money bag (or whatever the traditional name for it is)....big Italian family....we had the box, and we ourselves put pretty much all the cards in there....so I really don't know....

Re: Cardbox or Money bag???
I would rather use a card box only because I can make a pretty one at a low cost. (wrap a box w/ pretty paper, add some ribbon/simple) The money bags are very nice too and if you know someone who can run a stitch on a sewing maching they are simple to make.

Re: Cardbox or Money bag???
My Nana has been 'all worked up' about cards and gifts being stolen from weddngs. I know it could happen but......... I am not aware of any wedding I've ever been to that's it happened, or her for that matter either. Sometimes I think she spends too much time reading things online
I am opting to do a photo cube cardbox and trying to place it somewhere visible yet not terribly far away from our table. I would like to try and make an effort to speak to our guests and get their cards from them directly. I know its not going to be possible to get to all of them during the night. For those I cannot get to personally, I hope they realize that's the spot for cards. I'm sure my Nana will be watching it like a hawk

My nonna is holding my money bag- no one mess with her she is 88 and has a cane. Not worried that anyone will get away with anything- I am worried she will hit someone with a cane if they get too close.

Re: Cardbox or Money bag???
I am using a bird cage...so I guess that would be out in the open and isnt included in one of your options. Its something my mother made and my sisters used, so I going with that.
If I wasnt I would go with the bag...

We're using a cardbox...though my mom insists someone has to keep a close eye on it because cardfs might get stolen.

Re: Cardbox or Money bag???
I had a small non-intrusive looking cardbox. I dont like the idea of then either or of money bags but thats just me. We ended up doing cardbox and it was kept right behind our table and our bridal attendant did keep an eye on it.
When we walked around to say hi people gave us cards and DH put them in his inner pocket.....and alot of people just put them in the card box.

I'm using a money bag b/c FH and my parents didn't like the idea of the cardbox or birdcage. I found a really pretty bag at Barron's in Tri-County so we're gonna use that.

We used a money bag. The bridal attendant held on to it the entire time, and it was totallyl fine...there were no problems at all. I remember her coming up to me all day long taking cards out of my hand!
