Re: Carlyle and Carltun
I checked out Carlyle on the Green and although pretty, the room was too big for our needs as we are shooting to have ~100 people.

Re: Carlyle and Carltun
We were also down to Carlyle and Carltun. We went with Carltun because I thought the cocktail hour was set up nicer. Your guests can stay inside or go outside if the weather is nice. I love the fireplace in both cocktail rooms, but it does not work at Carlyle. I also thought the bridal suite was much smaller at the Carlyle, plus the Carlyle would not knock their price down. The Carltun dropped $15 pp.

Carlyle was amazing- everything was delish- people still talk about the food one year later. I was able to get the Carlyle to drop their price down- I think it all depends upon what month/how far in advance you are bookin.

They are both beautiful places. I too am biased about Carlyle. I was told that I could call them that morning and if the weather was cooperating, I could have both the ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors if I wanted.

Re: Carlyle and Carltun
We didn't look at the Carltun (we actually didn't know about it), so I can't say anything about it one way or the other, but we're really happy with the way we've been treated at Carlyle so far. We had our food tasting/menu selection meeting a few weeks ago - yum!

I thought Oheka was much more expensive. Isn't it?

Re: Carlyle and Carltun
Yep - not only a lot more pp, but also a hefty site fee for Oheka. On the other hand, you do get the entire castle for the day.

Re: Carlyle and Carltun
Does anyone mind telling me how much the Carlyle was pp I am looking at doing a Friday night?

Re: Carlyle and Carltun
I was quoted $145pp for a Friday night in June or July. Not including the 20% service charge or sales tax.

Re: Carlyle and Carltun
Believe it or not, but I paid $100 PP at the Carlyle for a Friday night in January- but I booked it 7 months before the wedding... so I was able to bring the price down.

Thanks, did this include the Venetian hour also?

Re: Carlyle and Carltun
yes, I believe their prices always include either the Venetian hour OR a plated dessert trio.. (I opted for the later b/c I'm not a huge fan of Ventian hours)
