Thinking of going there this weekend for prices. I am concerned that my party will be too small for theier amazing ballroom but I am love with the place. (150-175)
We to a wedding there a year ago and since then I have been dying to hold my reception there.
I know it is expensive but I am curious to 'how' expensive. My sister is getting married at Flowerfield- I am thinking it's around the same price range, maybe a little more.
My other concern is the cocktail room. Is it always in the room next to the ballroom? It was a little small for everyone to fit in- I remember people spilling out into the hallway- with nowhere to sit.
The look of the ballroom is just exactly what I am going for..... I am praying it isn't near 200per person.... that's a bit steep.
Thanks!

Re: Carlyle Brides
I'm sending you FM re: pricing. Re: the cocktail hour, for us (we had 250 people), they opened up the two back rooms as well, and there was plenty of space. Also, people spilling out into the hallway wasn't a problem - the hallway is set up with tables, chairs, etc., so it's meant to be an extension of the cocktail hour. You can check out my review on the review board if you like - we were very very pleased with Carlyle.

Re: Carlyle Brides
It depends on the day and the time of year. I am having it on a Sunday, which made it more affordable.

Re: Carlyle Brides
Hi! I had 150 exactly in the ballroom- and they set it up just perfectly and we didn't look lost in the room. However, I did have a 12 piece band that took up the entire back wall that overlooks the green.
Because we booked our wedding only 7 months before the date, we got an amazing price $100 for a Friday night!
Edited to say- we had NO problem with the cocktail hour room- everyone fit fine and everyone raved about it.. (especially the mashed potato bar!)

Re: Carlyle Brides
That should not be a problem. We have a 150 person minimum on a Friday night.
We may have just under that. The room is beautiful though isn't it???!!!

Re: Carlyle Brides
When I called Carlyle, they told me the minimum was 200 for a Saturday night.

Re: Carlyle Brides
If you book 1 year in advance, they have the advantage- but if you book closer to your date they will be flexible with you. I often find with halls that it is best to book closer to your date, not far away

Re: Carlyle Brides
Well, I am thinking of the summer of 2005, or October 2005. I would love Saturday but for the Carlyle I would be more than happy with Friday or Sunday- as long as it is at night.
I do know about the gratuity charge- I just really didn't want to hit over 150 but I'm afraid with the time of the year I will. I'm a teacher and I don't have that many options.
I'm thinking, to make it more affordable, maybe December, but I have a lot of family traveling from out of state and I am worried the weather may cause a problem.
I just LOVE the carlyle- the ballroom is amazing- I haven't been anywhere that can compare- it's just totally my taste! To each their own- right!

Re: Carlyle Brides
I think August is a slower wedding month- you should try booking for Summer of 2005 THIS fall and you should get a great deal

I know but I hate having things hanging over my head... and I'm worried dates won't be available..... and I really want to get married at my church so I am worried they both won't be available together....

Re: Carlyle Brides
I know if you wait closer to your date, it is more likely that the carlyle will decrease their price per head but, we booked the carlyle for october 14 months in advance and it was the last night for the entire month that was available. This might not be true if you went with august but most likely not if you go with the 'popular' wedding months

Re: Carlyle Brides
is october generally less expensive then July there? I am not sure.... I know in some places the prices go down a little in novemeber and decemeber but from what friends have said, not all that much.
