Hello all. Just thought I'd let you know that I went for my menu selection meeting yesterday. (TWO MONTHS TO GO!!! WAHOOOOOO!!!) Whats funny is that I spent two hours there and didn't pick the menu yet! LOL. They gave me a week to decide and fax in my choices.

I picked my cake - which will be chocolate with vanilla mousse filling, with white icing. I chose it from their pictures. (After having heard other brides brought pictures and found out it would cost extra money to create their cake, I figured I'd be better off just picking from among their selections!) It looks like it will be beautiful (just have to tell my florist to bring some flowers for it!)

There was a wedding being set up when I arrived, so I got to see the place all decorated. The bride had used Flowers by Brian, and the place looked fabulous. She had an indoor ceremony set up with huppah, little flower pots on cocktail hour tables, and high arrangements on each of the tables. Those of you using Flowers by Brian have no need to worry. :-) I'm using In Full Bloom though, so I will continue to worry since I haven't seen their work other then in pictures LOL.

Did you catch the menu I selected for my reception? We actually got in and out of there w/ in an hour and 1/2. We agreed on everything, so that made it easy. What was hard was there are soooo many menu options!!! I all sounds excellent.The two months are going to fly right by, I can't wait to hear your reviews.Keep us posted on your menu!

Valenia, I was there on Sunday too!

I went in to look around to get flower ideas for my own wedding. How funny! We must have just missed each other. I still dont know which florist I'm using, but I was definitely impressed by Flowers by Brian.

By the way, your cake sounds delicious! Who did you meet with? Best of luck!

I met with Cynthia, who I think is fabulous. She 'tells us like it is' and that is super helpful when working with my generally difficult family hehehe. She always tells us what she thinks works best, but gives us room and is supportive if we want to do something different. I have really enjoyed my meetings with her!

Its too bad I didn't see you octobergirl, that would have been too funny! :-) We were all sitting in the restaurant because of the wedding, so its not surprising though.

What was missing from your sheet? If you want I will fax you the sheets Pat gave us, I would assume they are the same, but you never know.

My list says 'Executive Chef Amy M. Beck' is yours the same name, or perhaps there is more then one chef who makes different offerings based on their specialties?

My parents already asked about lamb chops though, since its their favorite thing at any wedding, and we were told it would be no problem to include even though it wasn't listed. :-)

All your stations and your salad were on my list. Ahh maybe you can answer this for the very uncultured me -- For the 'Meat' Entree it listed 'Oven Roasted Chateaubriand'. Is that the same as Filet Mignon? If not could you explain the difference to the clueless me? heheheh

yes, it is the same chef. However, I did not see the oven roasted chateaubriand. On my menu it just said filet mignon. Could you e-mail me your #?Or I can e-mail mine to you. I think if we talk, we might be able to help each other out.
