Re: Carlyle on the Green
I went there this month with a friend and she was quoted $125 pp for a friday nite in Oct. and Dec. of this year, this was with a minimun of 150 guests and $125 for each vallet attendant. They wanted 1 attendant for every 5o guests. The food choices were enormous, the extra dessert ROOM was included. The chapel was a $700 fee. The place was not decorated but was still pretty. The Caryle gets great reviews because of how they treat everyone, not just the bride. The man that showed the place even said that they are trying to please the guests just as much as the bride. The garden area was ??? but again it was not set up and it was cold so the grass looked dead. Golfers are on site but they are not so close. Anyone getting married there will have all of their guests saying how beautiful it was and what great service and food. Look at their website photos. If you decorate with a good sense of taste, it will be breathtaking. $125 I thought was not expensive for there. It really depends on what time you go to a caterer and how far along you want to book it. Some caterers are much cheeper if you book them within 6-8 months of your wedding. They are trying to fill the calendar year. It is a risk but you may get lucky if the your flexible with the date. Good Luck with hall hunting!

I had my wedding at the Carlyle- I had 150 people and it didn't look like we were swimming in the room at all. Yes, they are expensive, but we got a FABULOUS deal because we booked 7 months in advance and took pretty much any Friday night they had available.
We had 3 rooms- one room for the ceremony, one room for the cocktail hour- a beautiful room with a beautiful dark wood bar- and the main ball room. Having the bar in the other room was NOT a problem as I had 2 waiters per table that were very attentive and people had no problem getting table service drinks.
I looked at the Cresent club and I wasn't a huge fan... especially b/c I was having a winter wedding and I thought their decor was very 'Miami Vice'...
The food at the Carlyle is AMAZING- the cocktail hour was superb... I still get raves about the food- I've been to a lot of weddings at many facilities on LI and I have yet to have food & service that surpasses the Carlyle.

this was my first choice!!! i fell in love with everything about it except the cocktail hour. there isnt enough romm for everyone to sit in one room so they seperate it into 3 rooms. if thats not a problem then go for it!!!! i wish i was getting married there but FI's said it was too much $$$$$

Re: Carlyle on the Green
I may be a little biased too, b/c I was married there, but having said that, the Carlyle on the Green is absolutely phenomenal!!!
The service is amazing, and the food is delish! We heard from so many people after our wedding that it was one of the nicest places they have ever been to for a wedding. Its very elegant and classy. And you and your bridal party will be treated like royalty on the day of your wedding!!!! As far as the complaint someone had about the bar, during your party, you should have a bar waiter for each table, so your guests really shouldn't have to get up for that themselves. No one complained about the cocktail hour area being too small, and we had 235 guests!
Feel free to send FM if you have any questions.

I alos looked at the Carlyle and thought is was nice. There were afew things I did not like though. The enterance was is very narrow and although I like the coctail room, I didnt like the fact that if your guests wanted to go outside they would have to walk through the main reception room. Also since it is a public place, I felt like there wouldbe people wlaking around, etc... and I wasn't crazy about that.
I think they quoted me 175 for Oct 04.
Good Luck. You should also check out Carltun on the Park, I liked that a lot better.
