Re: Carmela's Bridal Garden?
When my sister was dress shopping (in '03 for her '04 wedding) that was one of the stores we went to. The women were very nice and helpful and showed my sister a large variety of dresses.
I found my dress on the internet, so I never went there for myself.

I'm using them, but I'm not sure if I'm completely happy with them - want to know if things may get better...

Re: Carmela's Bridal Garden?
Well - they just seem to be taking their sweet time, unorganized, and forgetting what they tell my BMs...

Re: Carmela's Bridal Garden?
I didn't buy my dress there but I did try on a few. They were SO nice and helpful that I was ready to order another dress from there even though they didn't carry it. I also have a friend her purchased her dress there and it looks stunning. I would recommend checking them out.

Re: Carmela's Bridal Garden?
I went trying my dress on there and had a kind of unpleasant experience... All the samples were really small and barely fit over me (and i am NOT that large of a person, I'm a size 10), I found the woman to be kind of pushy and she really didn't listen to me when I tried to tell her that the dresses she was pulling out weren't what I was looking for. I also didn' t like that they refused to tell me the designer of the dresses I was trying on and said that it's 'all in their computer'. I just think that's kind of underhanded.
It's just my one experience though, it seems like others have liked them, so maybe try for yourself!

Re: Carmela's Bridal Garden?
I bought my BM dresses from her....I ordered in Oct. and they came in Dec. (very quick!0 I ordered Raylia designs which is Maggie Sottero (she did tell me it could take 6 months..but they came in 2)
when I was first looking for my BM dresses I wanted another designer and style and carmella quickly told me that the dress I was iinterested in is made poorly (very hard with alterations b/c it falls apart) and it was 1 1/2 yrs old already. She also came down in price for my girls!
I went to her b/c my SIL got her bridal gown form there in '03 for her '04 wedding....Carmella did beautiful alterations!!! She stored the dress for 9 months for her...and it looked wonderful! she also came down on the cost of the bridal gown as well!
We can't say enough great things about the place!

Re: Carmela's Bridal Garden?
Oh good!
I am already way involved with her - I oredered everything from her and we are up to alterations at this point... My BM said Carmela made a big deal about alterations only costing 65 dollars and she has so much work to do, and I know she's busy, but she forgot we were doing tea length on the dresses, forgot my shoes haven't come in on the day they were supposed to in time for my fitting - little things like that - I am just being a nervous bride - thanks for reassuring me...

Re: Carmela's Bridal Garden?
I used her last year for my dress. I had no problems. The salesclerk whom had first helped me to try on gowns wouldn't tell me who a certain designer was but Carmela(the owner) never had a problem telling me. She did all my alterations and did an excellent job. I felt like she really knows her stuff. Plus she was the only one besides paula varsalona in the city to carry my dress.

Re: Carmela's Bridal Garden?
I'm getting my dress and the BM's dresses there also. I grew up with Carmela's daughter and I remember playing in her house as a child and she was always sewing. She was straight off the boat from Italy at the time. She is making my Jr BM dress by hand and I trust here 110%, she has doing this for 40 years. The service is great and when you have an appointment with her, she is with you and only you. Good Luck!
