Are carnations hearty or weak? I'm thinking about using them for my e-party but dont want something that will wilt, or something that the stem will break or tip over.
TIA!

Re: Carnations
So you would reccomend them over hydrangeas in terms of heartiness (sp?)? I heard that hydrangeas wilt after a really short period of time and are semi-difficult to work with.

Re: Carnations
Hydrangea wilt, forget it, unless you are a pro and know how to work with them.
Carnations are super strong and hold up really well.
When carnations are fresh they are so lovely, keep them hydrated and they will be gorgeous for days.
After a few days, they are still hold up their color and shape for weeks if you handle properly.
Another flower that is cheap and holds up really well, is Alstroemeria
I used to think they looked like insects sometimes, but new varieties are really pretty.

Carnations will last for a long time as long as you take care of them
