Carpet

Carpet

Danielle and I are going to be moving into a basement apartment soon. I am sure the apartment is going to see alot of traffic, with her family being right upstairs, and my family very local.

We are going to be getting carpet installed by her brother in law. It is his business, so we are getting a really good price.

We want to get a carpet that will really stand up to all the use it is going to get. Right now there is Berber on the floor down there. It has been down there for 8 years, and has held up well. We were leaning towards replacing the berber with another berber carpet. Do you think this is the best idea, or should we get another type of carpet? We would really like something that is going to be easy to take care of.
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Carpet

From what I understand, berber holds up great with traffic. Also if you get a plush carpeting it will matte down over time and you will see the wears of traffic.

My FILs have a berber carpet and even with the grandkids running around on it its still clean and nice (is a very pale cream color) they have it in their living room so its the highest traffic area in their home and its held up well!

I recommend the berber too. We have it in our basement and upstairs in our bedrooms. It definitely holds up! Just this weekend we had them cleaned - they were filthy from a leak we had in the basement a few months ago. They came out perfect! The carpet cleaner even said the berber is the best, takes the most wear and tear.

I love the Berber we have upstairs in my kids rooms. We just had Empire over to carpet our basement and spare room for the upcoming sale and they said that the new high end Berber can't be beat!

Awesome then I will tell Danielle's brother in law that we want Berber. IS there a difference between regular berber and high end berber? If so whats the difference?
