Has anyone else heard the radio commercials for this place? It drives me nutty. I feel like real italians cannot possibly have southern accents, and it bothers me that they alledge that their mother made 'pomodoro sauce' when I know that anyone in my family over the age of 65 would NEVER call it this, they'd call it gravy! Ok, maybe its just time for me to leave the office if this is bothering me so much

They have southern accents, as if they are from Alabama. I feel that Italians, wherever they live, cannot possibly have this accent. It seems unnatural to me.

It's like going to the Olive Garden and calling it real Italian food. Its just wrong!

totally....i LOVE their food. i always get the Chicken Trio when I'm there---Pollo Rosa Maria, Chicken Bryan, Chicken Marsala on one plate...mmm
as for the accents--yeah i can see how that would seem annoying for NYers. i know the story is that one guys grandmother was born in Louisiana -- and she learned italian cooking from her own mother and MIL who were born in Sicily. And I think the other guy's family came from Italy and moved to like texas or something. They're restaurants are popular down south and have been slowly creeping up to NY.

I'll give the Olive Garden ONE compliment - I do like their salad. Anything else - why not just get Pizza hut if you're going to go fake italian?

omg Carrabas!!!! I haven't heard that name in years...I lived in Atlanta for a few years after college and that's the big italian chain place down there...it's like their Olive Garden (even though they have Olive Garden too). Same fake italian food more or less.

I go to one when im in florida. Very good, but spicy. I vote for sauce. Gravy makes me want potatoes.
