case of the Mondays...

case of the Mondays...

I'm feeling bummed out today. My wedding planning was smooth sailing until the past month. I just feel really let down by a lot of people. I had to let someone go from the bridal party, have a couple of people on both my side and FHs side of the family who are not coming, and I keep butting heads with my mother about everything. All this while continuing to plan everything by myself. I just feel really bummed today, like nobody cares. I feel like we shouldn't have even tried to have a big *** wedding. We should have just did something really small and used the money to buy a house. Anyone else feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and disappointed? 33 days till the wedding...

I can relate. The real personalities come out on big events... I'm sorry you feel this way. Have a glass of wine and turn off your phone tonight.

What you described is describing how I feel exactly. It hasn't been fun planning this wedding and I feel like people only care about themselves and not about us. I guess our families really haven't been making things easy for us. That's why I can't wait until it is over with. I have been down lately too but I am sure everything will be fine and we will be happy on our wedding days.

The person who told me 'You find out who your true friends are when you wedding plan' wound up being the worst person of all.

I was on MOH's FB and found messages of that BM talking smack about me. I was like fabulous, glad you warned me.

I'm ignoring them both and hoping they just opt out. That or I'm hoping for a big Bridesmaids-movie style flip out at the Shower.

Good luck with everything and don't stress. Once the day comes, everything will be perfect, and the pressure will be gone.

You'll start the feel the excitement more once a lo tof the small things are done. The pressure will be off and you can actually focus on the main point, which is getting to marry FH :)

It's going to be AWESOME, don't worry.

i cant wait til this point. can you give me an exact date. lol

Sorry you are feeling this way! People suck! And the ones who suck most are usually family members which is really upsetting! FH and I was just having a convo about how everything about the wedding (besides stressing about $$) has been great but now all of a sudden people are stressing us out! We're in RSVP hell, 2 of FH GM were causing probs.. One being his brother. His sister STIlL doesn't know of she's coming. People think FH and I have to worry about them and how they're getting there and etc... It's just ridiculous! So I can totally feel where you are coming from. At some point you just have to say screw everyone because it will make you go nuts! People forget this day is about the bride and groom and they should be doing everything to accommodate us or make our lives easier instead of it being the other way around.

Re: case of the Mondays...

Hi ladies... glad I'm not the only one feeling this way!

@Chaz ... i know what you're going through because it happened to me. My bachelorette party was a mess bc some people just can't accept the fact that sometimes things can't be about them. Jealousy is ugly and karma is a betch.

I think my biggest problem right now is the fact I feel like I have done nothing but think about everyone else involved with this wedding besides FH and myself. I kicked someone out of my bridal party and I think about how I made decisions totally influenced by her. My bridesmaids dresses I totally picked because of her and I decided to not do things because of negative things she said. The thing that set me off yesterday was my cousin. He and his wife never sent their response card back. My mom called the wife and she said she thought my cousin sent it back. I texted my cousin and he tells me he isn't living with the wife anymore and felt weird coming alone or with someone else since I didn't invite his kids. I LOVE his kids (they're 16 and 12), but i have like 30 cousins and a good amount of them have kids. If I invited his I would have had to invite everyone's. So now here I am feeling bad that he isn't coming and that it's my fault somehow. My cousin isn't the only one. There are a handful of people right now who I feel like I was there for in times when they needed someone and they are being awful to me. It's a month before my wedding and I feel like they should know how stressful this time is. Not to sound rude...but I really don't have time for someone else's feelings right now. Ughhhhh

Yes… i totally feel you. Not only am I stressed because I have so many things left to do, but i'm nervous about the actual commitment. I love my fiancé and am excited but it's still a big life step and i don't think I ever thought i'd be getting married at 26.

I'm also butting heads with my mom like you are. She takes everything so personally when I make a decision that isn't what she wants. She's been really emotional lately because of other things, and she's taking everything out on me. She's been putting me in awkward positions and holding over my head that she's giving us a lot of money to help out with the costs…just so she can get her way.

I feel you girl…i really do

My mom lost her sh*t after planning the bridal shower. Lately it's as if she's not listening to ANYTHING I say. She questions EVERYTHING I do and criticizes it. We were at the Woodlands last week and she was being rude to them and to me. I don't get what her deal is. She keeps calling me 'bridezilla' bc I keep yelling at her about her behavior. She's mad at me bc FH and I picked certain things for the menu and she doesn't like it. I'm like BUT ITS OUR WEDDING NOT YOURS! I feel like I'm going crazy!!!!

My mom stressed me out with the menu too. She went through the cocktail hour selections I made and was going 'Can't eat that, can't eat that, can't eat that' (she is gluten free). I can't have all gluten free selections when 1 out of 200 people follows a gluten free diet. There was plenty for her to eat but she was just being stubborn and difficult. People don't realize how these little things add up into big things and really stress us out.

lollll! My mom was arguing with me over the salad I decided to pick for the appetizer. She was saying we should have something that wasn't even an option. I'm like uhhhh NO! The other thing that has been making me angry... she keeps saying 'I wish the ceremony was faster. I wish they would let you just do the vows and that's it' We're Catholic and having just a ceremony, not a full mass. My mother also goes to church every week and she is complaining about the ceremony being too long. It offends me. I just feel I've had to sit through so many wedding ceremonies and masses that now it's time for everyone to sit down and watch me and FH get married. Like, everyone can make it through 30 or so minutes in a church to watch us.

Just so you know... I was so easy going through all the wedding planning and included FH, his parents, and my parents in everything. I stuck to budget and had nothing to argue about. After the bach party mess I realized that it was now my time to do what I want and tell everyone else to stfu. I'm NOT a bridezilla.

Same…my mother in law has been a single mother her entire life. She was unemployed for a while when she was laid off from her job, and she recently got a good job that pays her well again, so she is eager to contribute to the wedding and help us out however she can. She researched string quartets and is offering to pay for one for our ceremony, but my mom wants the organ and when i told her that the organist has been avoiding my calls for the past 3 weeks and STILL doesn't know our song choices, she didn't even care and was like 'You just don't want to do anything i want.' IT'S NOT YOUR WEDDING!!!! When will they get that???

omg we have like 6 gluten free...1 lactose free... diabetics... vegetarians.... i'm sad but it's much easier that my gluten free vegan friend isnt coming.....

we were going to have a Dietary Restrictions table... :)

PS our venue said as long as the guests ask, they can make almost anything gluten free. Also-- make sure you specifically mention if your parents or you have an issue!

We have a handful of halal only people and 1 vegan. Thankfully our standard menu accomodates them all. LOL
