We were invited to a friends wedding but we arent very close to them and we cannot attend as we will be on our HM.
Is $100 check okay to send with the RSVP decline?

I think thats plenty for w wedding you're not gonna go to (and people you're not close with)

I think that is fine for a wedding you can't go to for someone you're not close with. I've heard stories of people giving less than that when attending a wedding with a guest.
