Cash or credit??

Ladies, I hope this is not too personal of a question, but are you guys paying mostly cash or credit card for wedding and wedding related stuff?? FH and I have said that we'd pay cash for everything except honeymoon, but the way things are looking, I don't know if that's possibe?

so far we have been paying cash for everything minus a couple of tiny deposits on credit. we also used cash as a way of negotiating with vendors. they sometimes give a better deal if you agree to pay in cash.

most vendors also want the final payment in cash or check...which to me, check is practically cash.

me and FH opened up an AMEX so we can charge things and just pay it back the next month so we can get air miles...but seriously none of our vendors accepts CC's--just the down payments and so far only one vendor accepts AMEX!! so it was kind of a waste...

how - i have no freaking idea

i dont know how we did it actually but somehow we made it work.....

the HM we used a credit card even though we had the cash - we didnt want to carry around that much cash in a foriegn country and figured carrying the credit card around was A LOT easier....then we paid it off when the bill came.....

yes a lot of vendors will only accept credit cards for the deposit so its not realy worth using them unless you are levaing a huge deposit

We put it on credit car, but only to get points We never pay for something we don't already have the cash in the bank for and we pay the CC off each month in full.

Cash for the vendors, invitations, flowers, and limos. Credit for basically everything else. I paid for my dress with my card and I've been buying things for the wedding with the card also. I'm also using a card that gives great rewards back. And if I find things on sale at Macy's that can go towards the wedding, I buy it with my Macy's card so I can get 10% back since my card is linked to my registry.

cash when we can... but when we put it on credit we pay the bill in full with money from the Wedding Account when it comes in, so no debt from the wedding...

We refuse on principle, it's just one day.

Anything I'm paying for I'm paying cash... FH puts EVERYTHING on his Amex (since he gets points) and they just pays it off right away. If you have a cash back card or something that earns you points it's worth it.

we are paying everything we can in cash and using credit for the ocasional bit of a bill we can't pay... like we paid 1/4 of photo bill in credit, 3/4 in cash.

We are def using credit for honeymoon and paying our card off when we get home asap!!

a mixture of both....stuff i order online must be paid with a card and some stuff i buy in person is on a card but only small things that i know i can pay for at the end of the month...everything else is cash

Me personally, I want a record of all the big things I am paying for so, I have been using my debit card or credit card for my big purchases. I then transfer the funds from our wedding savings account to the debit or credit card.

and, I know I get a receipt after making a deposit but I want back up in case there is any problems.
