Cassarino Studios........again :)

I am going to see Cassarino Studios tonight. Ive seen many posts on them but not much on pricing. My question was if they are reasonable. Its a far drive for us and we want to be sure its worth it. If anyone knows of their rates or pricing, it would be appreciated. Thanks for everyones help

Cassarino Studios

I am using them - I believe that their packages start at $1999 and go up from there. It's been a while since I booked though so I could be wrong.

From what I remember(the papers are at home)they had a decent range-- you can change any package-- dont just give in to what they have written-- we got a few upgrades-- I recommend deciding on what type of album want and then negotiating the package(because the packages come with one type and they dont necessarily highlight that)also we got 10X10 album for the 8X10 price--extra thank yous- the upgraded album--and we paid no tax (we paid cash) so negotiate--which office are you going to? Good Luck oh yeah we also got the # of pics in the album upgraded for free-- as for video--they had 3 basic packages and after seeing the final package it was a good deal--again we got $100 off of that too by saying we were recommended--check out their webpage there is always a coupon on there Laura

Cassarino Studios

My sister used them in 1997 and she wasn''t happy. There were no pictures of her cutting the cake. Make sure they are going to stay the WHOLE reception. Lisa

Cassarino Studios (long.. sorry)

I went to the one in Jericho and dealt with Silvana. She was really nice and was easy to deal with. I also paid in cash up front, so no tax. The total was $2,900 but they have all different packages and will work with you. HINT: If you go on their website, they have coupons!!! Print them out and use them -- you can change things to the way you want!!!!! My photographer was George S and I LOVED him. He was there for almost the whole reception -- he left some time after the dances, but was there for ALL the major stuff and even asked me if I wanted him to stay, but at that point, there was no need. My sister also used them in 1997 and her pictures were really nice as well. My mother wasn't too thrilled w/her photographer though. He was a goombah wannabe -- I don't think he works there any more though. My proofs were supposed to be back w/in 2 weeks, but they were behind because of 9/11 and I didn't get them until the week of Thanksgiving, but they came out really nice and I'm very happy with them and with George. Hope this helps! Good luck! (Sorry to be such a blabbermouth!!!)

Cassarino Studios (long.. sorry)

I`m interested in Cassarino, and paying cash so you`re not charged tax sounds great. My only question is, do you have to pay the total before the wedding? Most studios I have seen work out a payment plan, so you only pay the balance if you are satisfied with your proofs. Also if you pay by credit card and aren`t satisfied, you can dispute the charge. Cash is harder to get back. I`d love to save money, but I don`t know if this is the way I should do it. Thanks.

We had to pay the cash upfront when we booked. I was nervous about doing that, but they had a good reputation and they've been around a long time. (Not that it means anything, look at Saymel's.) What made me feel better was the fact that we had shelled out a couple of grand to the catering hall already and you never know with them either. All of these vendors want money before the day, some want it all paid before the day, so you can't get around it. If you want to have payments, they'll charge you the tax. But there's no harm in asking them about it!!!

Thanks...I`m just a little leery of paying cash up front, but I agree, they do have a good reputation. You said you paid $2,900, was that including gratuity? One photographer, an assistant? Do they do black and white? Photojournalistic, or just posed? Any info would be greatly appreciated. :) Thanks

I think my package was a combo of two different ones, and it came out to $3,300 so they knocked off $400 for the tax. That didn't include gratuity. That's 'optional' and up to you. Our photographer had his son as his asst. (very cute and helpful). I don't remember exactly what we gave him (hubby was in charge of the tips -- not for nothing but it was about time he was in charge of something wedding-related LOL), but I think it was $150. We had envelopes with each vendor written on it, but left them open so that if in case we felt they deserved less or more, we could do so. They do b&w because when we booked we got a b&w with color flowers 11x14. And I think they also do the photojournalistic. They definitely are worth checking out -- I knew all along I wanted to go with them, but I checked out 3 of the 'house' vendors, and not for nothing but they were more money than Cassarino and I had to laugh because everyone thinks they are so expensive. I definitely got more for my money then any of the others. I have to go next week and do my album, that's a big headache having to pick 50 pictures out of 350!!!!!! Plus you get your proofs and you get the negatives after a year!!!!! Some places wanted to keep them for 5 years or charge you for them. What the heck do they need pictures of me for?

We are using them

We are happy with what we are getting for the price, and we think the work that we saw from them is very good. We also are getting video from them.

Laura

I think it's a year after the wedding, but I'll let you know next week because we're going there on Saturday to do our album. What fun (and an ordeal) that's going to be -- me and my DH can't agree on any of the proofs, so this should be fun!!!!
