Just wanted to post and let everyone know that we got our video back the other night and they did a great job-- one part was even missing from the final version and they are redoing it for me--but hte quality and the things that the videpogrpaher captured were amazing-I highly recommend asking for the raw footage because there will be things on it that are not on the final version plus you get to hear everything--especially from the parts that music is placed over and it is hysterical to hear all the comments that get made

Cassarino Video- Laura
Thanks for the info Laura. We are using Cassarino for both photos and video. I was starting to wonder if we should have used a separate video company, but it sounds like you are happy with the quality. A couple of questions, did they give the raw footage to you automatically or did you have to request it? Also, if you don't mind, what did they leave out of your video, was it an important moment? Were you also happy with the quality of your proofs and have you chosen your album yet? I'm curious about how they are to work with with this. Thanks.

Cassarino Video-VERY LONG
The packages range from 1495-1695 -- we got the middle package which should have been 1595 for 1495-- includes at home, ceremony thru reception--the first package was ceremony on--
as for the quality of our proofs-- i have posted about this before but 4 of us got married at the same time(diferent vendors for everything but comparable prices) as for our thank yous--- the quality of the paper was def higher than the other thank yous-- the proofs were great(still waiting on the album) we got a great deal that i dont think they were happy with-- we booked directly with our photographer( he was office manager or something like that at the time) he thus left before our wedding but still honored his contract to us--even though he was now working for another company--- well when we went in to do our album-- the manager was almost outraged at what we got-- so we were happy about that--
we paid $50 for the raw footage-- def worth it-- the accidentally left out my husband dancing with his mom and my mom read a letter (my dad died when i was 14 so she wrote a letter from him and read it instead of me dancing with a brother/uncle, etc--she surprised us with that)
so they left that out but it was on the raw tape so they are going to recut it--the funny part of it(no i was not laughing when i thought we didnt have it at all) but the ironic part was it was on the recap at the end-- so it was just an honest mistake--but they were great about it when i called-- we also included honeymoon shots with lots of postcards and that part i loved because we stayed at the timeshare that my parents bought in aruba and it was the last family vacation we took before my dad died so it had a lot of memories that i was able to share with my husband and it was also captured on the video--
as for the editing--they did a great job-- our package included animation which i did not want -- so while there was no floating cinderella's etc there was a little bit--which was fine-- and they did a lot of turning the video to black and white which i thought was really neat ---
i will stop babbling now but ask any other questions
Laura
FYI we used the queens office

Thank you Laura
Thanks for your comments. I see that you got married in April, so you waited 6 months for the video. I do not think my fiance will be that patient. Is this standard for Cassarino? How long did they say for the album?

Thank you Laura
Cassarino varies but most of the time it takes 4 to 6 months-- but we didnt turn our honeymoon pictures in until june 10th or so-- so that is the date they count from--there was a bride on this board who handed in all pics before the wedding and she had her video back in a month--it also depends on the time of the year since some months are busier--as for the album --it is worse-- we picked up our proofs after 2 1/2 weeks(we were away for 2 so it wasnt too bad) really important make your appointment for the album designing right away-- we waited and it took a while to get an appointment (July 9th) was when we finally did it-- so now we have to wait close to 9 months(so they say) it depends on the number of pics - we had 60-65..and the amount of special effects you get-- I am not into that so we just changed a few to black and white-- as for the thank yous-- we called it in the day after we picked up the proofs and it took a week--
hope that helps
if you are interested you can see my proofs on our web page
www.laurajeremy.homestead.com/home.html
click on the link on the top of the page and it will bring you to wedding pics and they are all proofs (5X5) in our album we chose 10X10 pics--something to think about
