My landlord is selling my Apt. and FH and I found a new one that is much nicer which we are currently in the process of moving into. My new landlord will not let us keep my kitty (his name is Brat). I need to find a good home for him ASAP (Like Yesterday) and I have not been able to find anything so far! It hurts to have to give him away but I have no choice. I really don't want to take him to one of the adoption/shelter places. I'd rather take him to someone where I know he will be loved. He is a little over 2 years old, beautiful, healthy, fixed and energetic. Please help if you or someone you know would be willing to take him. I'd take him to you myself along with some food and litter for him. I need to be out of my old Apt. by Wednesday.

I dont know of anyone who will take him, I just wanted to send you lots of hugs. I cant imagine having to give up my kitty. If I didnt havea cat with Feline Aids, I would take kitty in a heartbeat I hope you find kitty a new home.

I can't take in a new kitty either .. my kitty just won't have any part of it .. at all.
But, if you come down to having no other alternative .. please consider going through PAWS in Hicksville. They are a wonderful not-for-profit organization.
I have a cat now that is 14 and I don't think she would be happy about any new pets.
Also you can try North Shore Animal League. My MIL works there, let me know if you want her info.

I called North Shore and they said they are not accepting any cats right now. Same goes for PAWS, Bide-A-Wee, etc... So far every place I've called can't help me! My heart can't take this I've been crying all morning.

Have you tried contacting your vet? They may be able to take your kitty for you or at least help you find a new home for him. He's so cute, I wish I could take him, but we're not allowed either.

Can you look for another apartment? To me a pet is a member of the family. I hope you find a home for your's if you can not find another apartment.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but I don't understand how anyone could think about moving into a no pets apartment when they have an animal.
Would you move into a no kids building if you have children and just put them up for adoption? I just don't get it. An animal is part of your family, you shouldn't have even been looking at apartments that didn't allow animals.
You get a nicer apartment, your cat gets thrown to the curb and/or traumatized?
I'd take your cat, but I have a new cat who has just left the shelter and hates other cats right now. I hope if your cat finds a new owner they won't get rid of her when she's not convenient anymore - I just can't even imagine doing that.

Julybride, I understand what you are saying, but I think you were a little harsh in your words. My friend moved into an apartment thinking she could bring her kitty. Turns out that her landlord said no, but she insisted. She said that she would put an extra $500 security if anything gets damaged, even though she was a clean cat. Maybe you can ask your landlord about that, extra $$$ for the security deposit???

God I wish I could take him in. Our kitty is a rescue cat who freaks out at his own shadow. Another kitty in the house would be really bad. Oh but he's such a cutie.

I wasnt allowed to have a cat in my apt in Texas. I never did 'technically'. Sinatra lived with me and I just never told anyone. Thankfully he was very very quiet and when I knew they'd be in my apt for repairs or such I put him in my closet that was in my room and closed both doors. (mind you it was a walk in closet).
