catering costs???

I found a site in NYC that could work very nicely for a wedding but requires an outside caterer. I have been so busy searching for sites that have food included, I have no idea in terms of price range what to expect or look for in an outside caterer.

Can anyone give me a range of what to expect...i know thats a difficult question, but typically for a nice sit-down dinner what costs would look like per person.

I did a search myself but I don't know anything about them but it may be worth a try. they are based in li, but they travel for an additional fee. I hope it helps.

Where are you considering?

Caterers range from about 100 - 180 including rentals and liquor. I really wanted to have my wedding at a loft but I couldnt justify 75 per head just for the space.

The place is the Otto Khan Mansion. It is a gorgeous space on 91st and 5th Ave that could be affordable if the catering price is right - but definitely not if catering is that high!

I just need to get myself in gear and make a decision on a place. Actually I have an appt with Battery Gardens early next week too!

I found a few amazing (and expensive) caterers when I was searching for my loft wedding...the one's below were the nicest and most professional and had the best prices:

ohhhh your going to love it! Its so much more for your money. The price starts at 150 pp (so as you add stuff it adds up) I found it to be the best deal in NYC! although with taxes and stuff I will be way over 200 pp

The thing with a site fee is that you are paying 75 before you start and if you get a caterer for 100 (the cheapest I found) its not quality food.

If you need suggestions on places in NYC let me know I went to close to 40!
