I'm starting to look at catering halls and I have a list so far that I want to go look at but seeing as how my list was pretty long I was wondering if any of you have had any opinions (good/bad) about the following places I'd really appreciate it...
Chateau La Mer (in Lindenhurst) really close for me ... thats a plus Carltun on the Park - FH likes golf Harbor Club Venetian Yacht Club Carlyle on the Green Chateau Briand Cresthollow Country Club Hamlet Golf and Country Club Crestwood Manor
Let me know whatcha think!! If you have any other places that I should be looking at let me know... THANKSSSSS

Re: Catering Hall?!?
Probably about 150-170 people. I'm trying to keep my list on the smaller side...
I want a place that has GOOD food... I've been to weddings that were RUINED by bad food.
One or two weddings at a time tops, I'd prefer to not be involved in a wedding factory!
As far as price goes we're not really sure yet, it depends on how much we love the place! Our parents are gonna help us out *wink wink*. But we still don't wanna go broke on a wedding when there are more important things like a new house on the line. And those oh so wonderful college loans most of us have.
I look forward to your suggestions =)

Re: Catering Hall?!?
Chateau Briand was my second choice. I love it there but Floral Terrace is one wedding at a time which I like that was the only reason I went with Floral Terrace

Re: Catering Hall?!?
I second Westbury Manor... North Ritz does only one wedding at a time and I have heard the food is good, never went to a wedding there but a few co workers have gotten married there and loved it!

Hamlet Golf and Country Club is the same owners of hamlet willow creek - you should check out willow creek, and it is on a beautiful golf course.

Re: Catering Hall?!?
Chateau La Mer- It's ok. The one event I went to, my friend had a bad clam.
Carltun on the Park- Have heard great things. A friend of mine is getting married there next year.
Harbor Club- We looked here when searching for reception locations. It was our runner up. The views are beautiful and the staff is so friendly, but we felt it was a little dated. Venetian Yacht Club- Went to one event here and really enjoyed it. Food was pretty good and so was the service. Outside area is a little run down.
Carlyle on the Green- LOVE Carlyle. Especially if your FH loves golf. The views of the golf course are beautiful. The food and staff is awesome.
Cresthollow Country Club- I personally did not like Cresthollow at all. Too much going on, almost like a factory. The guy we met with was a sales pitch from start to finish- so cheesy. Sorry!
**** Other suggestions: Lombardi's on the Bay- This is our wedding location. It's on the water and a straight drive down Sunrise, so its easy to travel to from the Lindenhurst area. It's all newly renovated and owned by the Lombardi family. They are very nice and accomodating and you get SO much for your money. The views of the bay are amazing, and there's a dock and small park right across the street for pictures. I've been to many Lombardi events and they have all been great.
The Riviera- We were going to look here, but then decided to go with Lombardi's. I have read so many nice things in other girls' reviews. Its on the water in Massapequa, so again, not too far from the Lindenhurst area.

Re: Catering Hall?!?
I just had my shower at the Carltun on May 1 and it was wonderful - seriously exceeded my expectations. The food was amazing and the cake was gorgeous.
Went to a wedding at the Carlyle about 3 years ago and it was really nice - this was before I was paying any attention to wedding details, but I remember the room was really beautiful and BIG!

Woodbury CC - Went to a wedding last year (it was nice, but I hate daytime weddings) and going to one this Friday or Fox Hollow CC (friend is getting married there this August - they tell me how they love it all the time and the tasting was really good).
Jericho Terrace - went to a wedding there in April. This place is beautiful! The food was really good too!

Re: Catering Hall?!?
Definitely check out Venetian Yacht Club.
We had our wedding there in November and everything went great!
We had our wedding at 1:00 and the next wedding wasn't until 7:00. We didn't even bump into them when we were leaving.
The view is spectacular! A lot of our guests raved about the view. It was great to have the day wedding as we were able to experience the day transforming into sunset into the nighttime.
As for food, delicious! Everyone is still talking about the CH and the reception food. And the staff was amazing! No one went without a drink anywhere as they were always on top of it.
Our VH was awesome too! So many desserts and our chocolate fountain too!
FM if you have any more questions. Definitely worth a look!

Re: Catering Hall?!?
Goodluck with your searches!
I went to carlturn on the park and really enjoyed it! In addition, my parents went to a wedding there and still rave about it (and they have high standards).
Crest Hollow- When I was younger i went to a million bat-mitvahs there and i feel the location has alot of parties going on at once and not as 'special' as some other places you have on your list. Although I have not been there in years.
I looked at VYC for my own wedding, and while it is beautiful and on the water I did not want to overlap with another wedding at the same venue. I remember prices were reasonable and if you are not going for a while FM me and I will find the folder they gave me with the exact pricing.
And lastly i live at the hamlet and LOVE it. Although i did not want to have my wedding there cause i would feel like i was having my wedding in my backyard. but i go to parties and dinners in the club house all the time and they are great to work with. They are flexible and really a pleasure (because they are used to working with 'needy' people who only want the best). FM me if you have any questions!

Re: Catering Hall?!?
I would say to call or email all of those places first to see if they have the dates you are looking for. If you are flexible, then I would say to look at price ranges for the catering halls and see what fits in your budget.
I have been to weddings/functions at Crest Hollow, Venetian Yacht Club and Chateau Le Mer. They were all good food and decor.
