I'm starting to look at catering halls and I have a list so far that I want to go look at but seeing as how my list was pretty long I was wondering if any of you have had any opinions (good/bad) about the following places I'd really appreciate it...
Chateau La Mer (in Lindenhurst) really close for me ... thats a plus Carltun on the Park - FH likes golf Harbor Club Venetian Yacht Club Carlyle on the Green Chateau Briand Cresthollow Country Club Hamlet Golf and Country Club Crestwood Manor
Let me know whatcha think!! If you have any other places that I should be looking at let me know... THANKSSSSS

I would say to call or email all of those places first to see if they have the dates you are looking for. If you are flexible, then I would say to look at price ranges for the catering halls and see what fits in your budget.
I have been to weddings/functions at Crest Hollow, Venetian Yacht Club and Chateau Le Mer. They were all good food and decor.
Forgot to add Carlyle on the Green!!! This was the BEST out of all the weddings I went to. Food was deeee licious

I'm getting married at the Carltun and my mother works there. I've been to a lot of places in LI but I always go back to the Carltun for a consistantly amazing time. It doesn't hurt the I think they have the best catering hall food - hands down.
My best friend was married at the Carltun and it was amazing. The food, atmosphere and service were great. Cannot go wrong and it is a one wedding at a time place.
If you're open to 2 weddings at a time max... look at Woodbury CC. We just had our wedding there on May 1st and we had an amazing time. The food, service and place - fabulous. Even though they can hold up to 2 events, the times are staggered so your guests won't see each other and the rooms are floors apart, so you don't share bathrooms or hall space either. If you go there..FM me for advice.
Good luck!

Re: Catering Hall?!?
We got married @ CLM in August. It was truly amazing! We just went to another family wedding this past weekend & our family is STILL talking about how awesome everything was at our wedding...10 months later. - You wont be disappointed if you book with them.

Of the ones you mentioned I've been to CLM and CB. Chateau La Mer is great, the service was excellent. I went to both wedding of the year there and they were both so much fun Chateau Briand is amazing, the food is really goood, price is good, service is amazing. I went to a wedding in January and had a great time. We looked at Cresthollow...did a foot tasting and it was SOOO good. The food was delicious. We also looked at the Carltun and IMO its way overpriced.

Re: Catering Hall?!?
I just got married at Crest hollow on May 1, and everything was so professional....from the staff, to the food, to having enough seating at the cocktail hour for everyone...it was amazing. They didn't annoy us about the dj plugging things in, or where things were set up, and everything was done exactly the way I wanted it.

Re: Catering Hall?!?
Carlyle on the green is pretty sick. We just booked timber point which is a lessings property. Woodlands at oyster bay was beautiful. A lot of character.
Chateau la mer seemed factoryish but has good food (we aren't italian so it didn't feel right getting married there).
Woodmere club is really nice and amazing food.
most of the places will let you try the food somehow but i'd go on reviews. people on this site are usually spot on.

Re: Catering Hall?!?
I'm getting married at Carlyle in Sept. I've been to 1 wedding there and i was blown away by the food. I've ate at about 100 different catering halls on LI and most of them are ok in regards to the food. Some are not good, and some are ok. A lot of it is just the typical catering hall food. (Personally I love cocktail anywhere better then the main course).
The place is beautiful, 1 wedding at a time, large square ballroom with no pilars, foor to ceiling windows througout and great service.

Re: Catering Hall?!?
We had a great experience both planning & on the day of our wedding at The Venetian Yacht Club.
The maitre'd & bridal attendant took care of everything. Our banquet manager was helpful through the whole process. Food was amazing, and our guests said it was one of the biggest cocktail hours they had seeen (and we got their most basic package, no extra stations) and the view is gorgeous. Actually, we had our tasting on a rainy day and it was still pretty, rain or shine.

If you like the Hamlet in Commack, definitely look at Hamlet Willow Creek in Mt. Sinai. I looked at both (and was pretty convinced prior that I would like Hamlet Commack better) and for a couple reasons, I liked Willow Creek most and am SO happy with my decision. HTH.

Re: Catering Hall?!?
Ventetian - I was not impressed with at all. Seemed very dirty.
Country clubs aren't really my thing plus I go to conferences all the time and them and wanted something different.
Below are some of the places I visited.
Land's End and Flowerfield are both FABULOUS! both are run from the same parent company.
I saw Crescent Beach Club which is nice but pricey and they nickle and dime you. The location is beautiful. I wasn't thrilled with who I met with.
Waterview - price is right and the room for the reception is more or less a blank canvas to work with. Jim is fantastic to speak with.
Lombardi's on the Sound - I loved the view but disliked the ballroom plus it was kind of small and too close to the CH space.
Metropolitan - No outdoor area but the space is really nice and clean. Prices are great.
Atlantis Marine World - very out there but totally different! Cool concept, not for me but the prices are right and possibilities for ceremony are endless. Ron is great to chat with.
Riviera - I really liked the outdoor space but I wasn't a fan of the reception space. Has more of a rustic, log cabin feel. Not my style.
Aside from budget, consider whether it is important to you to be the only event at the RH at that time. Also consider your overall theme and ambiance you want to create...let that help guide you when looking at the places. Good luck!

I want a place that has GOOD food... I've been to weddings that were RUINED by bad food.
Then Check out The Fox Hollow. Food is amazing. I have a very fickle italian family & the food means everything & they were all raving. We also the most amazing experience with them. They were absolutely fantastic & i didnt have to worry about a thing. Good luck.

Re: Catering Hall?!?
Jericho Terrace can do a few weddings at a time but they are excellent at timing and spacing them ot so you don't even know. Their food is really really good too!
I've recently went to a wedding at North Ritz Club and their food was awesome too. It is 1 wedding at a time and very pretty. I'd suggest checking there as well
