Catering Hall extras...

Hi!
For those of you that have gotten extras thrown in by your catering hall (an extra cocktail station, a martini bar..etc..) when did they do that? When you booked, or more towards the actual date of the wedding?

I did some when we booked and some a few months down the road when I stopped in to make a payment

At East Wind she told us to pay for these extras closer to the wedding , like even when we chose our menu.

I think she ment she wanted to get them thrown in.. as in she dosent wanna pay for them

Yeah I don't want to pay for them if I don't have to.....

when we went to finalize our menu, our banguet manager threw in alot of extras for us. Wait until you got for your final menu...I bet you will get lots of extras!!

I didn't really get any extras, per se, but all of the specifics about foods, number of cocktail hour tables, food choices, stations, guaranteed minimum headcount, liquor/wine brands, etc. were discussed and negotiated in conjunction with the price. If there's something you want to ensure is included, I would recommend making sure it's in the contract before signing. In other words, anything that's not part of the normal 'package' should be negotiated just like cash during your initial meetings. Less extras should give you more flexibility with the per person price and/or guaranteed minimum, and vice-versa.

Ohh..sorry i thought she meant things to add on...gotcha now. Hmm..i m not sure about that.
Sorry about that confusion...I'm on Block Island (getting my LIW fix on a laptop..hello, obsessive!!!) and the rain is clogging my thought process
