Catering Hall Visits

Catering Hall Visits

Hi Ladies!!
Its been a pretty busy past two weeks..I appreciate everyone's input it helped out tremendously.

I visited catering hall spaces for my wedding!!! It was so much fun!!!!
The first catering hall we looked at was the
1. New Hyde Park Inn- I thought the gardens were beautiful but I'm puzzled about the restaurant interfering with my wedding.

2.The Carltun (its located in Eisenhower Park. it took a while to find we got lost and we were late to our appointment) I thought it was beautiful I love the cocktail room and the fireplace. But I felt like I was paying a lot of money and not getting a lot of food.

3. Jericho Terrace- the location certainly works for us (We decided not to check out catering halls that were too far east). We fell in love with the cocktail room because we wanted an outdoor room and it certainly looks like one. On the downfall my mom is handicapped as are a few of our guests and all those stairs make me nervous.

4. Westbury Manor- all i have to say is Wow the grounds are stunning, I love the peacocks during cocktail hour. But again restaurant in the building and I've heard that there are other rooms upstairs.

I guess I have to explain myself and why I really want to be the only bride in the building. 2 years ago at my best friends wedding we had a bad experience. We had party crashers at the wedding who were really really drunk and rude. They started a fight with the best man who asked them politely to leave. Everything escalated to a very big fight, my best friend was devastated.
But to make a long story short, I guess because of my experience I always have that in the back of my mind. But of course I do know that this is very rare but I really don't want to take the chance.

Okay well I still have more on my list! I'll let you know when I find the catering hall of my dreams

Sandcastle has only one wedding at a time. It was one of the main reasons why we decided to go with them

I love the Inn! I have my reasons, but I am not worried about the restaurant interfering. It's a really low-key restaurant, I've been there many times, and also, they are not permitted into the back where the ballroom is. Your guests probably won't even see the restaurant. I know a few people who have had their weddings there recently with no problems! Also, since I am getting married on a Friday, there is no afternoon wedding - mine is the only wedding that day. FM me if you have any questions!

My sister is getting married at North Ritz in December and I think it is also really beautiful! It's super nice that you have the whole place to yourself!

I will bring it up with the bm when I go to the next catering hall. The carltun was so expensive! and nothing was inlcuded.
Jericho Terrace doesn't have an elevator until you go down the stairs...its really confusing

Re: Catering Hall Visits

I was married at the Inn at New Hyde Park and can assure you that the restaurant did not interfere with my wedding. I did not see anyone other than the people that were at my wedding. If you like the inn do not let that be a factor in your decision! Good luck!
