Meadow Club. They seemed to offer the most for our price range :) And the hall and ceremony site are both beautiful :)

Did you ever find out the price of the Pt Jeff Country Club (I don't remember). I say try Riviera and Thatched Cottage. I heard nice things.

I have heard good and bad things about thatched cottage. I should go look at it. I am not sure were the Riveria is but, I think I got turned of by the pictures( I think the place had wicker chairs). Port Jeff country club is over my budget.

I know how you feel about the wicker...

But remember, some places have pictures of them, but don't actually use them anymore, so you may want to check it out. Making the pro-con list didn't help?

Have you tried our hall - Areca? The food was outstanding and so was the service. We had so many compliments. We did not have the ceremony there so I can't tell you how that works if you need that. The other thing is that the bridal suite was small, I don't know if that's important to you. Everyone thought the place was beautiful and you are the only event. I cannot reccomend them enough!!!

We are having it ours at the Floral Terrace...We absolutely loved the inside & the ballroom...The biggest selling point was 1 wedding at a time...We liked the fact that everything is custom to what you want because you are the only one there...The price was just as affordable as all the others we looked at...It also is closest to where our families are going to be coming from...The entire ambience of the place is amazing,...Also the garden room is great for pics which is something we had to consider because we are getting married in March & it is not daylight savings time yet....Hope this helps

Watermill.

I teach high school and I've been to various catering halls between chaperoning the prom and all of my friends and families weddings (I'm the last one). I always wanted the Watermill:

1. People have raved about it... food, decor, etc.

2. We needed a place where we could take our pictures, get married and have the reception.

3. They have a beautiful back up chapel if we can't get married outside... it's not some side room.

4. We were VERY flexible on the day. Being a teacher it had to be summer so we could honeymoon right away. With less than a year to plan (we are both mid 30's... I'm not waiting any longer) we got a great price for Monday, July 4th because we are not competing with anyone getting married in a church. Who cares if it's on a Monday everyone has off anyway. My ppp is way under $100 a person.

Good luck... be flexible. I booked the Watermill 3 days after returning from getting engaged in Europe.

I don't know if you were looking at pictures from their old website or not, but the Riviera doesn't have wicker chairs. This is the new website in case you want to take a look.

We loved Ariana Waterfall in West Hempstead. I live in Brooklyn and desperately wanted my reception in Brooklyn but I just loved this place and there was nothing in Brooklyn to compare it to.

We got married at Raphael Winery in Peconic. I fell in love with the place and because we were getting married in February, we were able to afford it. It's a totally unique place and definitely not a wedding factory.

The Coral House has windows and a beautiful lake in the back. They dredged it and its even prettier now.

Re: Catering Halls?

I second checking out Rapheal if you are willing to go far east.

-unique, not a hall or hotel
-breathtakingly gorgeous views of vineyard, and the capability to have the ceremony in the vineyard
-amazing food
-extrodinarily attentive one-on-one service with one coordinator, one wedding at a time
...there is too much to name. Check out the pics under Catered events.

I wanted someplace on the water, with only one wedding at a time...I feel in love with the feel of TimberPoint--I would call it understated elegance. Many places I saw were a little too flashy for my tastes. All depends on what you want.
