Catering halls

Original post by Amor2009

Hi, I am new to the boards. I was wondering if anyone could give any recommendations on the following halls:

Jericho Terrace
Fox Hollow
Woodberry Country Club

I am probably having the ceremony at the hall-- in the fall 2009 or Winter 2010. I really want to find a place with a beautiful indoor ceremony location.

Thanks so much for the help!

Thanks again!! Do you girls think that it is realistic that we can book in November 2009?? I really don't want a super long engagement... but it looks like its hard to get married on Long Island in a year. What are your opinions?

I got engaged September 1st, went to look at halls September 15th and 16th and booked for September 18, 2009. You can DEFINITELY do it in a year. Fox Hollow offered discounts for their April, May and June weddings (peak dates in June) but we felt we might be a bit stressed since it was less time to plan.

I think that you can definitely get married in November of 2009. There are a lot of places to choose from.
Out of the 3, I am only familiar with JT, I went to a wedding there last October and it was nice but I have seen where 2 brides are in the same area and I did not like that.

I am getting married next Nov - I would seriously start your search this weekend as I am sure alot of places are already booked or are booking quickly...
You may also want to look @ The Inn @ New Hyde Park

Re: Catering halls

I'm getting married at a church and then at JT (I didnt want to have to worry about hearing any music from other rooms, etc)..... Fox Hollow was my 2nd choice and I didnt go with it b/c I didnt like the cabin feel and felt more like a princess at JT lol Also, I really liked the outside of Fox Hollow to get married, BUTTTTTTT it's too close to the street.... and I didnt like that JT only offered inside weddings for $600!!!!!!!!! No way was I going to pay 600 for a room that I will be using for half hour- instead, I am giving $400 plus a $200 extra to our church as a donation.

I'm VERY biased towards JT. But, I must say, I've never heard a bad thing about it. The food is delicious and the staff has been so wonderful since the first time we went to go look.

JT is more expensive than Fox Hollow, but IMO I really think you get what you pay for. JT is giving us sooooo much for our money.
