cathedral veil

are any girls here wearing a cathedral veil? my only 'fear' is that it will cover the details on the skirt/train of the dress. and then by the time you get to reception the cathedral train is bustled so no one really saw the whole thing!

cathedral veil - Long Island Weddings

I ordered a cathedral veil but it has no detailing whatsoever. It is a very fine tulle and is only one layer with a blusher. It goes beyond my dress and my train. My train is super detailed with beading and you can see it no problem through the veil. If you start looking at veils with multiple layers they become difficult to see throu and can appear white.

Mine is a cathedral veil but the only detail it has is on the edges - you can see right through it to every detail of the dress.

Re: cathedral veil

I wore a cathedral veil and had a cathedral length train on my dress. The way my veil fell it didn't really hide any of the details. It's very sheer and it trails behind in a way where it's not clinging to you.

eta- i tried to add pix. see album.

cathedral veil - Long Island Weddings

I got a cathedral veil because the bottom of my dress was very plain. the fabric was gorgeous, but there were no details. I got rhinestones on my veil to add a little sparkle. I took it off after pictures and just wore the blusher.

Also just to add... I took my veil off after about 20 minutes at our photo location. The breeze was taking my veil and making it like the sails on a boat. It was pulling my hair so bad I thought it was going to ruin my hair. We took it off and kept it that way the remainder of the night.

I am wearing a cathedral length veil. I goes beyond the train of my dress, but you can still see the detail on the dress. I loved the effect of a cathedral veil.

I love the look of a cathedral veil and I would definitely do a sheer one layer so you can see through it. I'm not sure if I'll use one yet!

I had a very intricate bottom and train of my dress and i was concerned about the same thing, but if you get a single tier cathedral veil you will be able to see everything through it. If you want to see pics, there's one in my album and you can see it perfectly.

I got a cathedral veil and my dress is Pronovias uceda which has a very detailed lace train... My veil has no blusher and is very plain with just a rolled edge trim so it doesn't cover the detailing
