Re: Cathedrial Veil question
Hi, Your veil shouldn't be longer than your train. You can have the catheral veil custom made to measure the same length as your train.

Re: Cathedrial Veil question
Can you have a cathedrial length veil if you are not being married in a church? I know this sounds like a stupid question...

Re: Cathedrial Veil question
Actually, I think your veil SHOULD be longer than your train if you have a sweep train. I think the veil can sort of substitue for a long train at the ceremony but can be easily removed after.

Re: Where did you get that veil!
well i guess you can then. go for it! I am getting a two tier cathedral veil-the cathedral part will come off after the ceremony, and the elbow length one will remain all day. cathedral veils are stunning!

I have a sweep train too and i am having a veil longer for sure, I agree with Stef that it makes up for the length the dress doesnt have.

Re: Cathedrial Veil question
Your veil can be longer than your train, it should not however be shorter than your hair.

Re: Cathedrial Veil question
I'm another one with a sweep train and a longer veil. I didn't want the train to cut accross any of the design on the back of my dress. This way you can still see all of the design and I think it gives it a really dramatic look.

Re: Cathedrial Veil question
Im having a veil made just like this (with a pencil embroidered trim instead of a thick ribbon).
If you have a sweep train, you probably want a chapel veil instead of a cathedral. A chapel is about 2 feet past the dress, a cathedral can be as much as 10 feet.

Re: Cathedrial Veil question
originally I was going to get a 3 tiered veil- fingertip veil, slightly shorter veil (as blusher) and a removeable cathedral veil (just for ceremony). I have since decided that even though I am pretty tall (5'7). I do not want a fingertip to wear through the reception, it is too long. I have also decided to only wear one tier through the reception (so you can see my hair). If I could swing an elbow length (we have to see how it looks with my long hair), then I would rather just wear that for the reception (I will remove the chapel veil after the ceremony). Of course all of this is speculation until I try it on with my dress because I dont remember how long my train is (I ordered 8 months ago). I plan to order the veils over the internet.

i totally agree with stef. i got a cathedral train with a cathedral 2 teir veil. i think the chapel length would be nicer with a sweep train
