Cathloic/religous brides... What do I do with statue?

Hello there!

I am Catholic, but not very religious. My FH is Jewish. My new house has a statue of some saint in my garden that is falling apart. My FH and I want to get rid of it, but I feel guilty in throwing it in the garbage. How do I dispose of this? I feel that bad luck will come to us if I just toss it out. Don't laugh, but I've concidered either burying it in our backyard or leaving it infront of a church at night.... of course I;m not too serious of abandioning it at a church.

What can I do with it?????

Kelly

Re: Cathloic/religous brides... What do I do with statue?

this is funny!

I totally understand your dilemma though. My parents have this statue of St. Joseph in the backyard, and the head fell off like 5 years ago, and nobody wants to throw it away because they are afraid God will be mad! So it's this decapitated scary statue that my sister's kids are TERRIFIED of!

I say - we (as Catholics) are not supposed to 'worship any idols' - just trash the dang thing. There are no 'curses' in the Catholic OR Jewish faith.

Good luck!

LOL!!!! that is just too funny Jenny!

I'm glad someone can relate! I guess I will end up just tossing it out, but I'm soooo afraid that anything that will ever happen in our house (as minor as it may be) will be a result of the curse tossing this statue has caused us.

I'm glad ours is not decapitated! It is in one piece (although decrepid) and the 'shell' backing is half off. I am also afraid of my neighbors seeing my FH and I hauling it away will be horrified since they all have statues themselves!

Thanks for making me laugh!

Kelly

Oh my, I haven't laughed like that while sitting in front of a computer in a long time!!!!

I would advise donating it to the church. If they want to trash it, let it be on their heads.

A decapitated saint. I can't stop laughing.
