Are you saying grace before you eat at the reception? My FMIL is Catholic and I am Jewish and she says they always do this at weddings. I have been to plenty weddings (not only Jewish) and have never seen this done. Am I crazy? Thanks.

Re: Catholic Brides
I've been to five weddings in the last year or so, and grace was done at all but one.
My DH's aunt is a nun, so she said grace at our wedding -- although it was more like a speech than grace and it was ANNOYING me (I was kicking DH under the table -- and you should see my face on the video ) I didn't ask for a sermon/homily -- just a quick 'bless us o Lord....'
Anyway, do what you want. That's my answer whenever in-laws put their two cents in.
Maybe the priest can give a very general, non religious 'blessing'? That's if you really want to compromise with your FMIL. And believe me, I understand if you don't!
