Catholic Brides
Re: Catholic Brides
It depends upon the parish you are using. I am having a Sunday wedding and they wont do a full mass because of time constraints with regular masses on Sunday. Our ceremony is at St. Joseph's in Kings Park. It's bothering my mom more than me. My future husband isn't catholic so I didnt want us to be united in marriage and then divided when it came to receiving communion.
Re: Catholic Brides
It might depend on the church. I know my church said it was out of the question entirely. Other places might let you have it after all the morning masses are finished. I would try to call the churches and see what they allow. Hope this helps!
Re: Catholic Brides
Like other brides, I will have to say that it depends on the church. Some churches won't do it due to time constraints, but others will do it so that it actually combines with a mass.
Re: Catholic Brides
all I can tell you is Im having enough trouble just getting an appointment with the priest....they have to interview us before even giving us a date I feel violated and I didnt even go yet...best of luck with the wonderful world of Catholic churches
Re: Catholic Brides
it depends on the church..my church won't do sunday ceremonies at all...
Re: Catholic Brides
The church also has to get a special dispensation (permission) from the Cardinal (I think) in order for you to have the mass on a Sunday. A lot of churches will not allow it because of morning masses, but if you know your pastor well he may be willing to go the extra mile for you to have an afternoon mass. I have been to one Sunday wedding mass, but I think they are rare.
