Catholic brides.. do/did you HAVE to get married in a Church?
Original post by OctGroom
I'm in a pickle.. or a tuna salad.....
I'm Catholic (not a great one) and my FW was baptozed Catholic but raised Lutheran. I have always loved the Church. It's part of me.
But we want to get married outside.. so far from what I've read it looks like it's gotta be in the Church. We won't change our plans.
Have any of you faced a dilemna like this?.. What did you do?

Yes he does, but I didn't want him marrying me. Vegas is actually one of our stops on our honeymoon, so we are going to go and get remarried ,alone, without all the family, by The King!!

Good luck. Personally, I think it's BS that the church won't recognize it.
AMEN to that!!!

what is this disposition I heard about that my FH has to go through?? Can anyone explain please. This is what his mother said after talking to the Priest that knows my FH since he was 2..
ANyone??
He has to get a dispensation from the bishop to get permission to marry oustide of the church...and it is only approved if you are of different faiths, like I mentioned earlier, and even then there is no guarantee that he will say yes. I don't know how exactly to go about it, you'd have to ask your priest.
