I sometimes hear people talking about FOCCUS but i have no idea what this is. Can someone let me know?
I was engaged once before and did pre-cana and have to do it again this time around - but what is this FOCCUS?

It's a test that they ususally go over in the pre-cana class. if you check out the diocese website it has info about the FOCUS test.
you take it at home online - i think its like $50

is this something new, because again, i;ve never heard of this? i've gotten conflicting answers - some say your given a quiz with 150 questions and a scantron sheet, then you get the answers and talk over ith with your priest.
i've taken pre-cana before, the last time i was engaged and i never took this focus test and it was never discussed at the pre-cana class. and that was only 2 years ago.

Its not that its new per se. Some churches are making it 'more difficult' for couples to get married. It addresses the top things that couples tend to fight and divorce over: finances, in laws, infedelity and child rearing. It was such a great experience, really!
St Agnes, our Cathedral and where we are getting married, requires it. We were happy to take it. Its a great way to open up communication about important issues!

Btw it was about 175 questions - Agree, Disagree, I dont know - online. We each took it seperately in our pajamas. Then we are scheduled to go over it with a married couple, not the priest! Hope that helps. We just did it a week ago so feel free to ask any questions.

Yes- as the other bride said, some churches make you take it and some dont. best think is to talk to your preist about it to make sure you have everything in order.

yea it wasnt bad at all..i wish i would have had the option to take it online! but we took it at the church in front of the director who does the focus group. its actually good bc its questions that make you think about your relationship and then they told me i have to meet with a couple and discuss the results.
