Re: Catholic Brides, offering of the gifts?
You can pick anyone to bring up the gifts, doesn't have to be parents....they have to be Catholic. We are having four aunts, two from FH's side and two from mine.

Re: Catholic Brides, offering of the gifts?
We had DH’s parents do it since my dad already walked me down the aisle and my mom was too embarrassed to do anything.

Usually it is the parents or your Godparents but anyone who is special to you can bring up the gifts. I do believe they have to be Catholic.

Re: Catholic Brides, offering of the gifts?
I am not sure if they need to be Catholic. My priest never said. The 2 I have thought about asking... 1 is catholic and the other isn't. Now I don't know what to do. Would they really know if they weren't??

True, but then they will not take the Eucharist.

we chose 4. You really only need 2 though. as far as religion- the priest would never know, but out of respect to other religions, we only asked Catholics to be part of our ceremony

Re: Catholic Brides, offering of the gifts?
We picked our Godparents to carry up the gifts and also to do the readings. The Godmothers are doing the readings and the Godfathers are carrying up the gifts.

we're having my FH's 'aunt and uncle' do it. They are really more like parents since they mostly raised him and yes they are catholic

Re: Catholic Brides, offering of the gifts?
My brother and my FIL brought up the gifts since we wanted to include them in some way and neither of them had any other role in the wedding.
